Professional Development Plan

I will learn about strategies that engage students and implement effective classroom management techniques

to manage the students in the classroom.

1. Choose and describe an aspect from a teaching competency that you need to work on (Goal)
I need to work on my class management more because if I will not gone use a right strategy for the classroom

management or apply it they will not be properly organized, this will affect the student level, or I will not achieve any

of the lesson objectives.

2. Describe what you will do to help achieve your goal (Strategies Used)

I will use different warmer activity for the lesson, not always the same to engage the student’s attentions for

the lesson, and do not get bored because if the lesson is always the same they may get bored from the lesson,

and they will focus now.

3. Describe how you can tell if you’re achieving your goal (Evidence)

I can tell that I am achieving my goal when I ask each student and they give me a right answer, and some of

the students after the lesson comes to me and show me the words that start with the sound that they learn it,

and that what happened when I teach them /x/ sound.

Introduction (warmer activity + teacher introduction/demonstration of small group activities)

Firstly, I will play a video for the students Fox in a box Phonic Rhymes, after that I will ask them

tell me what is the new sound that we will going to learn today.

Then I will introduce the story to the students, and I will ask them to listen carefully to find words

ending with letter x, and through the story I will ask them some questions.

Introducing Phonics & Letter Knowledge


In this part the students will learn how to write /r/ sound step by step, and they have to follow the

steps to write it right, and I will show them a video how to write the letter x the upper and lower,

and they have to do it on the air.

I will ask them to repeat this and copy my movement in the air and on the floor. The students in

the first time will listen carefully to know how to write it, and then they will repeat the directions in

Name writing practice:

The students will get a card that have name of thing for example, Fox he/she must read a word then

use a magnetic letter to copy the word, the last step is trying to write the word on the line.

Independent Experience (small group activity 1)

Clip cards:

They will have a card and each card include a picture of (Fox – Box – Six) there is a name of this

things with a missing letter, under the picture and the name there is a different letter the student

must put a pin on the write letter which is x to complete the word.

Independent Experience (small group activity 2)

Playdough with letter Xx and previous sounds:


The students will have a card with Xx formation, they will use a playdough to make a letter Xx.
Independent Experience (small group activity 3)

Writing the letter Xx:

The will get lined cards to practice writing the letter upper and lower (Xx) without the formation,

and I will ask them try to write the words.

I will ask them to trace an X in the air using their fingers. Then I will give them different objects to

represent the letter X for example, by wooden stick, straw, marker, pencil, their fingers…etc. And

the student who will represent must give me words that is end with letter x.

Assessment

I will assess them through the activities if students able to identify words that ending with the x, and if they

able to trace the letter X with their fingers, playdough, and different objects.
