2.4: The student will perform rhythmic patterns that include half notes, half rests, whole notes, and whole rests; 2.5:
The student will respond to music with movement.

How did the teacher accomplish her/his objectives?

Through many different activities, some of which involved dancing, singing, repeating after her, etc.

How did the teacher assess individual students’ understanding?

Watched the students, walked around with them to observe, wrote down grades quickly (it was barely noticeable)

What does the teacher do that seems to help student learning in this classroom?

Doesn’t spend a lot of time on corrections (is very direct and to the point), asking “would you like another try?”

What does the teacher do that seems to hinder student learning in the classroom?

None

What do students do that seems to help their learning in the classroom?

Very well behaved and focused for the most part, enthusiastic, followed classroom habits

Some were chatty and antsy (kind of moving around a lot and not sitting still)

I have no idea, Ms. Hagy was amazing

Some more focus, sitting still
