Objectives
1. Create a healthier candy out of radish with easy-to-find and non-expensive home ingredients.
2. Be able to survey atleast 50 SRSTHS students that are not in the same grade with us, and surprise
them with the creativity of Grade 7 students in candy-making.
3. Prove to them that even the most unexpected things can be found anywhere; just like the radish
in the candy we will create.
4. Be a frontrunner in the area of food innovation, especially now that we are in the 21st century.

Procedure
These are the steps we followed in making our Labanos Yema candy.

Ingredients:
600 g (2 cups) of condensed milk. 4 tbsps margarine. 5 egg yolks. ½ cup radish extract.

1) Rinse and peel the radishes.

2) After peeling, grate the radishes until they are cut in thin shreds.
3) Squeeze the labanos shreds in order to take the extract.
4) In a pan, add ½ cup of radish extract, 4 tablespoons of margarine, 2 cans of condensed milk, and
5 egg yolks. Bring to a heat until it gets viscous in texture.
5) Chill in the fridge overnight. Cover balls in a layer of butter to prevent sticking. Wrap in
cellophane papers and serve.

* this recipe of ours made more than 50 samples.

 We also made a survey composed of 10 questions so that we can record the data (interval
data using Likert scale) about the characteristics of our candy easily. We are to survey 50
different SRSTHS students from Grade 8 to 10.
 The collected data is to be presented and interpreted in tally charts and pie charts.

Interpretation of data
We can interpret from the pie chart that very unsatisfying, as represented by light blue, got 0%,
unsatisfying, as represented by orange, got 0%, neutral, as represented by gray, got 4%, satisfying, as
represented by yellow, got 18%, and very satisfying, as represented by a darker shade of blue, got 78%.

Conclusion:
We therefore conclude that the very satisfying option got the highest percentage in the graph, gaining
78%, while the lowest percentages were the unsatisfying and very unsatisfying options, all gaining 0%. In
short, 78% of the 50 students were very satisfied with the smell of the candy. Only 4% of the students said
that the smell of the radish candy was neutral.

Conclusion
We therefore conclude that the Very satisfying option got the highest percentage, gaining 84%, while
the Very unsatisfying and unsatisfying options got the lowest percentages, both gaining 0%. 84% of the
50 surveyed students were very satisfied with the taste of our candy. A small percentage of 2% said that
the taste was neutral for them. These results are not bad, as this is our first time.

Conclusion
We therefore conclude that the highest percentage was the very satisfying option, obtaining 60%,
while the lowest percentages were both the very unsatisfying and unsatisfying options, obtaining 0%.
60% of the 50 students were very satisfied with the appearance of the candy. In contrast, 6% of the
students said that the appearance was neutral. Our candy was, in some way, presentable, as it was
covered in red cellophane and wrapped like any other normal candy.

represented by yellow, got 18%, and very satisfying, as represented by a darker shade of blue, got 82%.

Conclusion
We therefore conclude that the whopping 82% of the graph was occupied by the very satisfying
option, therefore making it the biggest part of the graph. The lowest percentages were all from the very
unsatisfying, unsatisfying and neutral options (0%). Still, 82% of the 50 students were very satisfied with
the sweetness of the candy. 3 of the other options received a 0% in the graph, leaving only 2 options,
satisying and very satisfying, indicating that our radish candy was really sweet.

Conclusion
We therefore conclude that the highest percentage was the very satisfying option, obtaining 64%,
while the lowest percentages are the very unsatisfying and unsatifying options, obtaining 0%. 64% of the
50 students were very satisfied with the texture of our radish candy. There is an 18% of these students
that said our candy texture was neutral. In fact, we received a lot of comments saying that we should
improve the texture of our candy, since our candy was “too soft”. (as said by one Grade 9 student)

We therefore conclude that the highest percentage is the very satisfying option, obtaining 78%, while
the lowest percentages were from the very unsatisfying and unsatisfying options, both obtaining 0%. 78%
of the 50 surveyed students rated our radish candy as very satisfying when it comes to freshness. This is
accurate since our served candy was indeed freshly made.

We therefore conclude that 78% gained by the very satisfying option was the highest percentage in
the graph, while the lowest percentages were the very unsatisfying and unstatisfying options, both
gaining 0%. 78% of the students rated our candy as very satisfying in terms of odor. The odor smells of
condensed milk and a hint of radish.

Conclusion
We therefore conclude that the highest percentage in the graph is 64%, from the very satisfying option.
While the lowest percentages, 0%, were both from the very unsatisfying and unsatisfying options. In terms
of the possible appeal of our radish candy to the mass, 64% voted that the appeal would be very satisfying.
We believe that if our candy is well-appealing, we will be able to sell our candy to the people, after we
make some improvements.

Conclusion
We therefore conclude that the highest percentage in the graph is from the very satisfyinf option,
gaining 60%. While the lowest percentage is from the neutral option, gaining 6%. 60% of the 50 surveyed
students said that the radish taste in the candy was very satisfying. In contrast to that, there was an 8%
of those students said that the radish taste was very unsatisfying. It is somewhat partially true because
the radish taste in the candy was not that strong, since the sweetness of the condensed milk masked the
real radish taste.

Conclusion
We therefore conclude that the highest percentage in the graph was 72%, from the very satisfying
option. While the lowest percentage was from the very unsatisfying option, which is 0%. 72% of the 50
surveyed students were very satisfied in liking our candy. Although there is a 2% who said that they were
unsatisfied with our candy. We gratefully accept these results, and these results are no that bad since it
is our first time making a vegetable candy. We believe that the likability of our candy depends on the
tastebuds of the one tasting the candy itself, so we cannot blame them. Some were even shocked when
we told them that our candy contained labanos We promise to improve and enhance our candy in the
future. This experiment was a very nice starting opportunity for us.
