Task Two – Active Learning Environments

A website/blog is required for this task.

Planning activities that allow students to clarify, question, apply, and consolidate new
knowledge.
What is an active learning environment? What are its benefits? How does it link to the inquiry
cycle?
Active learning means students engage with the material, participate in the class, and collaborate
with each other. In active learning, students are in more control of the learning, and it shifts the
emphasis on learning from the teacher to the students. I saw in my classroom that the students
were very patient to the teacher and she explains everything in a clear way to them.

Which activity engaged most students? Why do you think this happened? How could the activity
be improved to further increase student engagement?
The activity that when the teacher gives the students plastic animals and let them know which
animal is this and write the name of the animal, i think this happened because the teacher want
the students to memorize and know the animals name and how do they look like and have a full
understanding about what they are learning about. The activity will be improved to further
increase student engagement by giving them more worksheets or activities to understand the
lesson well.
