P II ecial edition paper. Development of a Method of Analyzing Behavior of Cast-in-place Pile Bore Walls Using the Shear Strength Reduction FEM When constructing castin-piace piles near tracks or existing structures, work must be limited to within the track closure tine, and caretul deformation prevention work must be done almost every time construction is performed. Those are needed because 1 method of assessing safety factors such as train running stability and track deformation at ple construction has not yet been established. Work ime limitation and deformation prevention increase the construction period and costs, resulting in greater overall time and expenses required forthe project. In ight ofthat, dereguatng work ime and limiting deformation prevention work to only ‘wha erally anata! hy heing abla ta anim safely a ila conection ara urgent iain To enable quantitative assessment of safety at pile construction, we studied and improved an analysis method by the three- dimensional elasto-plastic fine element method that incorporated the shear strength reduction metrod (SSR-FEM). We were able to confi effectiveness ofthis analysis method, and we completed development of analysis software. This article reports the overview of those. l2koyworde: Cac in place pile Stabile bore wall, ine element method (FEM) When structure ate construced in overtack spaces, new funda imbiling covinplae piles ae ofe imal near Foundations of existing tracks, viadues and buildings. But methods of asssing sail of pile bore walls and their impact, fon surrounding ground and adjacent foundations have not yee besa putin place. Iie chus diicule o formulate an appropiate plan For wot to coneol she impact. Under thee crcumatness, Foundation construction can only be done at night when the tack is closed and is chus often accompanied by excess impact contol work. This leads to an increase ofthe construction period and costs, Impact control work can even case ground deformation and other adverse fers “Teovercome those problems, more appropriate impact contol work is needed based on more appropriate assessment of dling effets, Methods of making such assesment, however, have not boon sufficiently putin place, We ony have experiment results ‘which show thar securing a distance to che existing foundation approximately equal ro the diameter ofthe new pile can reduce the impact. Ie is therefore a maver of urgency wo establish an assesment method that can be applied to actual design and construction planning, ‘We thus devsloped and confirmed effectiveness of FEM analysis software that incorporated the shear strength reduction, method a simplified impact analysis method for planning.
