ABOUT SCHEME
The vision for this unit, outlined in this Proposal, has been
developed through a collaborative process, including a
campus-wide vision crafting process that involved
administration, a review of existing Center formats, and
support for the higher Education.
This document provides the rationale for establishment of the
The School for Analytics for Teaching and Learning as an
important enabling mechanism for achieving our institutional
goals of increasing retention and graduation rates by
providing outstanding instruction and support.

We excel at providing only those courses that unlock a range of opportunities to students upon completion.
We offer SAS Training, Business Analytics Course, R Course Training, Machine Learning Training, Alteryx
and Python Training. Our job-oriented courses equip you to be ready to take on responsibilities in this domain
and make a great impression with your hands-on skills. School for Analytics will help you learn all these training
with Live Projects through which you will get a real life experience working on these technologies
1. Advance Excel and VBA: Organizations whether big and small require people to create the dashboards
for the reporting purposes. As the data is increasing every day, it is vital for all organizations to create
proper dashboards to keep themselves ahead of the competition and understand how they are
performing in each market. All the industries either manufacturing or services reports for their day to day
activities. Excel and VBA enables you to create dynamic dashboards and also automate reports and
save time.

2. SAS: Analytics is growing field as all the organizations require analysis to survive in the market,
organizations require analysis to make decisions for their current strategies. For each and every thing
like creating new application, creating business strategies and all operational work requires analysis to
be done. SAS enables you to analyze data statistically.

3. SQL Server Management Studio: As the data is increasing at a fast pace, Excel alone cannot cater
all the needs required. As excel is only a spreadsheet and used for only reporting purpose, it is the need
of the time to have a database in place where all the data can be stored easily. SQL Server provides the
platform to store ample of data in proper storage. SQL Server also provides different reporting Platform
through SSRS and Integration through SSIS.

4. Tableau: Creating Dynamic Dashboards is a need of an hour. Every company cannot only show the
data, they want to show the dynamic dashboards to their leadership. Tableau enables you to create
dynamic dashboards without copy and pasting the data. Tableau enables you to run data from different
databases and create the dynamic dashboards automatically.

5. Machine Learning: Artificial intelligence is the target for all organization for the future. Companies are
looking forward for Robotics and for reducing the manual intervention at the highest pace. Machine
learning helps you to do Automation through different ways where you can reduce the manual
intervention to 0. Through machine learning, you can create projects that require complete automation.

6. R: Analytics in your mind, R will help you analyze the data and create a perfect analytics solution for
your projects. It enables you create projects through statistical computing and graphs. R is a free
software that enables you to analyze your project through statistical computing.

7. Alteryx: Alteryx is tool used for Data Science and Analysis. Alteryx is a data mining workbench, and
ETL is often a big part of the data mining process. Alteryx has plenty of ETL tools/capabilities, and much
more too. I haven't used SSIS in ages, certainly not since acquiring Alteryx. Alteryx has three basic
capabilities ETL , Advance Analytics and Reporting.

8. Business Analytics: Business analytics (BA) refers to the skills, technologies, practices for
continuous iterative exploration and investigation of past business performance to gain insight and drive
business planning. Business analytics focuses on developing new insights and understanding of
business performance based on data and statistical methods. In contrast, business intelligence
traditionally focuses on using a consistent set of metrics to both measure past performance and guide
business planning, which is also based on data and statistical methods.
9. Python: Python is an interpreted, object-oriented, high-level programming language with dynamic
semantics. Its high-level built in data structures, combined with dynamic typing and dynamic binding, make
it very attractive for Rapid Application Development, as well as for use as a scripting or glue language to
connect existing components together. Python's simple, easy to learn syntax emphasizes readability and
therefore reduces the cost of program maintenance. Python supports modules and packages, which
encourages program modularity and code reuse. The Python interpreter and the extensive standard library
are available in source or binary form without charge for all major platforms, and can be freely distributed.

School for Analytics will help you learn all these training with Live Projects through which you will get a real
life experience working on these technologies.
The School for Analytics is a place where faculty, staff, students, and
community members work in a collaborative environment to create
rich, engaged learning and teaching experiences; the center increases
student success, builds vital community partnerships, and invites
individuals to become members of an intellectually diverse, active
learning community.

In order to facilitate fundamental and socially relevant research in

OVERVIEW
India, lot of emphasis is being laid for strengthening collaboration
between Indian research groups with top research groups in the world,
so that Indian scientists and students can interact with the finest minds
in the world.

This document provides the rationale for establishment of the School

for Analytics as an important enabling mechanism for achieving our
institutional goals of increasing retention and graduation rates by
providing outstanding instruction and support. It outlines the Center’s
functions in the context of our institutional .priorities and our
substantial experience with curricular engagement and student support
The School for Analytics Goals:

The School for Analytics in Curricular Engagement will a) engage University members work in a
collaborative environment to create rich, service/engaged learning and teaching experiences;
b) Contribute to significant increases in student retention and graduation rates; and thus
c) Establish the University as a System leader in these areas.

The proposed Center will be:

 Integral to the academic mission of the university
 Essential in offering stronger and more integrated support services to students
 Led by experienced faculty, staff, and students
 Integrated in work with both Student Affairs and Academic Affairs
 Charged to build the capacity of our integrate teaching, learning, and scholarship with engagement
through service-learning and related academic initiatives
 Provide curricular support for both traditional and e-learning courses and environments
 Position the institution as a leader in efforts to advance civically-engaged teaching, learning, and
scholarship
The School for Analytics will have the capacity to:

 Establish and maintain long-term, sustainable, mutually-transformative partnerships across the

campus and between the campus and the broader community
 Leverage campus and state collaborations to that each benefits the other
 Provide seamless support between and among student service areas (including advising, tutoring,
counseling, etc.), productively involving both staff and faculty in these areas
 Expand into new, relevant programming areas
 Connect systematically with related initiatives on campus (such as General Education, distance
education, assessment, undergraduate research, etc.)
 Collaborate with faculty, staff, students, community members, and programs engaged in related
forms of experiential, community-based teaching, learning, and scholarship, thereby helping to
strengthen such efforts and generating new models for effective curricular engagement across a
range of venues (e.g., internships, undergraduate research, learning communities, etc.)
 Garner external funding in support of the teaching, learning, and scholarship activities associated
with curricular engagement
The Institute mission statement concludes with the following
commitments:

 Close student, faculty, and staff interaction in support of

intellectual growth and personal development;
 Diversities of culture, age, and nationality among both students The School for Analytics
and staff MISSION
 Public service which promotes the well-being of the state’s
citizenry; and,
 A global consciousness.
Inclusive excellence for the entire educational experience
 Focus each student’s plan of study on achieving essential learning
outcomes (and assess programs providing those outcomes)
 Immerse all students in the arts of inquiry and innovation
 Teach through the curriculum to far-reaching
 Connect knowledge with choices and action as we prepare them
for citizenship by means of engaged and guided learning
 Emphasize personal and social responsibility in all fields of study
 Use assessment to deepen learning and establish a culture of
shared purpose and continuous improvement.
Multiple programs and several initiatives have undertaken, over the
years, to carry out the university’s commitments and, more recently,
to engage more systemically
All of these initiatives were developed with the intent of
addressing the academic success rates of our students, both in
terms of persistence and (ultimately) graduation rates. Recent 6
demographic trends in the state, as well as increased institutional
competition (both from traditionally delivered and online
programs) across the state in, partly because of these
demographics, provide yet another impetus toward addressing
barriers to persistence and graduation. Both internal and external
initiatives (including system-provided support to hire two
“professional advisors”) have been explored as ways to further
meet these challenges.

 Establishment of a Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL)

linking Academic and Student Services initiatives and best
practices (in teaching, advising, and research).
 Initiate the centralization and coordination of existing faculty
and staff efforts among faculty and staff that are aimed at
appreciable and assessable efforts to develop and implement bold
measures to improve teaching and learning activities
Initiate program and grant development efforts supporting
(1) The long-term sustainability of the Center and
(2) The three strategic areas within the logic model by involving
faculty and staff in innovative practices;
The establishment of the Center thus provides the best
institutional opportunity to actualizing and maintaining
productive connections between Student Services and Academic
Affairs.
We feel that the The School for Analytics for Teaching and Learning will help
to establish a culture of curricular engagement that not only encompasses
initiatives traditionally considered part of the academic curriculum (service
learning, etc.), but that also profoundly impacts our ability to provide
students with a “compass” for negotiating all levels of their collegiate
experience, from their very first contact with student success counselors to
community outreach work with disciplinary specialists to providing tutorial
support to fellow students. We believe the benefits of such engagement will
extend to all participants:

 As students are guided through their university career by means of

integrated support services, they can most effectively appreciate the critical
examination of experiences and issues in the broader community; in turn,
they develop intellectually, personally, and in their capacities as citizens; and
they learn how to think critically, how to collaborate with diverse others, and
how to problem-solve at all levels of their collegiate experience.
 The faculty and staff who work with students them are rewarded by finding
new outlets for their work as scholars, new approaches to best meeting their
instructional goals, and providing the best possible opportunities for their
students to succeed in all aspects of the curriculum and collegiate
experience.
 Community members have a stronger voice in the education of future
leaders, future employees, and can work as full partners in advancing
institutional missions of knowledge generation and its application.
 Finally, the university builds new connections across programs, disciplines,
and constituents while enhancing its ability to carry those connections out.
2. Learning Outcomes/Assessment Development

The Study of Analytics will assist in the continued

(and necessary) integration of service experiences
with academic material (both in terms of Center-
provided activities and coordination of disciplinary
engagement with the broader community). The
COLLABORATION Center will also assist faculty in the development of
academically sound, empirically-validated models
promoting student learning through the integration of
1. Collaboration across units critical reflection and assessment. Its dedication to
The university has a long history of both inter- engaged, experiential, and service-learning initiatives
departmental and external collaborations, which the will assist faculty in the implementation of such
Center can help to further coordinate and maximize, models and support the use of these models in
including: related experiential, community-based teaching and
learning venues (including within activities provided
 First Year Learning Communities
by the Center).
 The First Year Seminar (FYS 100) experience
 Peer tutoring services
 Faculty engaged learning initiatives
 The Honors Program, these units should be included
in ongoing conversation regarding the evolution of the
Center. In a collaborative arrangement, the proposed
Center will benefit immensely from the experience
and expertise available in these units, and also assist in
the coordination of the various activities performed by
the units. Goals: The Center will seek to strengthen
existing collaborations with campus in the forming of
new collaborations, both on and off campus.
The university has identified itself as an institution dedicated to
excellence in instruction and learning supported by a strong
record of scholarship, thus fostering a culture of
experimentation and assessment that can positively impact the
further development of models of faculty development,
scholarship, student leadership, and critical
reflection/Assessment. Collaborations among staff, and
students will be essential to developing such models and, in
turn, providing System- and state-wide leadership, as well as
outstanding research/publishing opportunities for our students.
3. Community Partnerships

The Center will have the resources and initiatives that make it
ideally suited to provide leadership on campus in developing
community partnerships as well as investigating and supporting
potential partnerships for specific faculty and programs (i.e.
engaged learning and service learning initiatives).

In other words, a Center that practices curriculum engagement

from the “ground up,” so to speak, can transform practices both
within Student Services and Academic Affairs, leading to more
rewarding relationships among faculty and staff and providing a
culture of support and empowerment for their students.
There is a need for greater private sector involvement. The
industry should engage itself more in terms of not only funding,
but also skill development, innovation and entrepreneurship. The
target to enhance access to higher education by creating ten
million additional seats aligned to the skill needs of the economy,
calls for more innovative and viable modes of funding higher
education. The Vocational Qualification Framework offers
students an alternate path that can offer employment and
provides an opportunity to acquire a degree or diploma. Skill
building can only be imparted by the industry or its associates.
The same needs a greater involvement of the industry not only in
providing skills, but also in promotion of innovation and
encouragement of entrepreneurship among our youth,
The objective is to offer on-the-job practical training to enhance
the employability of a person either pursuing his/her
graduation/diploma in any technical or non-technical stream or
someone who has discontinued his/her degree or diploma course
to increase employability. Any society/trust/company shall be
eligible to apply for registration as an agent. It is expected by the
Ministry that this initiative will bring the educational institutes
and industry together for training, internships and consequently
better employability
