Sexually transmitted infections (STI) – Definition, causes, and

symptoms
Sexually transmitted infections are diseases that are spread by
sex, is transmitted from the person who has STI too. Previous sexually
transmitted infections (STI) are known as sexually transmitted diseases
(STDS). This change is adjusted with the policy of the World Health
Organization(WHO) in 1998. You can get a sexually transmitted disease
from sexual activity that involves the mouth, anus, vagina, or penis.

According to the American Social Health Organization, one in four


teens in the United States infected with STI each year. At the age of 25,
half of all young adults who are sexually active will get an STI. Sexually
transmitted infection (STI) is one of the ten first cause unpleasant
disease in young adult males and the second largest on the causes of
young adult women in developing countries. Adults and teenagers (15-
24 years) is 25% of all sexually active population, but contributes almost
50% of all cases of new STI. It is estimated more than 340 million new
cases of curable STI that (syphilis, gonorrhea, trichomonas infection,
and infeksiklamidia) occur each year in men and women aged 15-49
years.

STI is a serious illness that requires treatment. Some of IMS, such

 Lumps, sores, or warts near the mouth, anus, penis or vagina


 Swelling or redness near the penis or vagina

 yellowing of skin (jaundice)
 Discharge from the penis or vagina
 vaginal discharge may have a smell.
 Bleeding from the vagina than during a period of monthly

How do I know if I have an STI?

determine if you have an STI. Treatment can be:
