Dr. S. Gungadeen Written Assignment Report

Power Point Presentation

1. Assignment Instructions
All Research Projects are sustained individual work comprising a thorough and critical
literature review though each varies on how the outcomes of the final work are arrived at and
presented.

Firstly you should identify an appropriate research topic and clearly define the desired aim
and objectives of the study. You should evaluate the relevant theory and provide a synthesis of
that theory in the form of a literature review. The theoretical analysis gained from this literature
review should then be applied to the chosen project.

The Research Project must consists of both primary and secondary information.

The literature review would lead onto a well justified and relevant methodological section
outlining the identification, collection and analysis of relevant/appropriate primary data. This
would be clearly informed by the literature review and secondary data and seek to address the
issue(s) highlighted in the aim and objectives.
2. Assignment Must
The report must include evidence that shows that the student meets:
 Include a background of the study or an introduction.

 Include an analysis and evaluation of the topic they discuss and facts should be used to
support conclusions and recommendations.

 Make clear connections between theory and practice; provide a demonstration of the
practical application of the theory.
 Cite references in accordance with the Harvard System.
 Be presented in report format.
 Be within 4500-5000 words

3. Power Point Presentation

a) You will be allowed only 15 minutes for the presentation. Your power point
presentation must include the following sub-topics:
 Introduction of the topic
 Aim and objectives of the study
 Literature Review (highlight the sub-topics covered)
 Methodology
 Results and discussions
 Conclusions and recommendations

4. Assignment Submission

You are required to submit your work on-line through TURNITIN.

Please note that it is your responsibility to submit your research project by the required date to
avoid incurring any penalty for late submission.

Please note:

 Tutors will follow up any suspected plagiarism found after the submission date as per
University policy.
 Late penalties will apply as per University Regulations.
