▹▹ EXISTING ISSUES AND OPPORTUNITIES
The biggest challenges identified are:

• Challenging intersections – Unconvential intersections of multiple

streets and ramps can be challenging for users and can be “choke

▹▹ DDOT PROJECT DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

Due to project complexity, capital funding needs and/or environmental regulations, most projects from the
Crosstown Study take the multiple steps in the DDOT Project Development Process described below. This
process includes additional public engagement and outreach so any modifications that arise as part of a
project during the project development process will be vetted through the community.

1.3.3 Previous Studies and Plans
While the Study was the first to focus on east-

of previous and ongoing efforts to make the
Study Area a better place to live, work, and travel.
The previous studies and plans considered are
shown in Figure 1.4.

Master Plans
The Study utilized data and recommendations
from current and past studies, as shown in Figure

The Study incorporated and built upon relevant
recommendations.

5.2.2 DDOT Project Development

Process
Due to project complexity, capital funding needs,
and/or environmental regulations, most projects
from the Crosstown Study will follow the multiple
steps in the DDOT Project Development Process
(shown in Figure 5.1). This process includes
additional public engagement and outreach so
any modifications that arise as part of a project
during the project development process will be
vetted through the community.
