Great day, my dear learners! After having the past lessons regarding Machine Shorthand,
we are now in the next module. This module contains Lesson 11, entitled Machine
Shorthand: Enhancing the skills within. We are going to tackle the new letters the Initial
and Final L, new sounds and abbreviations. To complete the package the module
includes Hands-on practices, activities and self-checks that will help the learners improve
and develop their skills in using Machine Shorthand. I hope you will find this module

Let’s recall the parts of the Machine Shorthand Keyboard; the keyboard has 3
parts the right side which contains initial letters, the left sides which contains final letters
and the bottom side which contains the vowel letters.

Machine Shorthand Keyboard


RIGHT SIDE LEFT SIDE
It contains initial letters such It contains final letters such
as S, T, P, H, K, W, and R. as F, P, L, T, D, R, B, G, S,
and Z.

BOTTOM SIDE
It contains vowel letters such as
A, O, E,and U.
That is the reason why we need to used letter combinations just to represent the missing
letters.

LESSON PROPER:

NEW LETTERS: Initial L and Final L (-L)

Initial L
It is represented by letter combination HR. It is written by depressing the crack
between H and R with the left index finger.

Final L (-L)
