You provided students with a clear understanding of the editing process. When
one student was questioning the use of an exclamation point you demonstrated
the effect of this use.

Following the whole group instruction students were placed in thoughtfully planned
learning groups to edit each others' written articles.

2a: Creating an environment of respect and rapport 3- Effective


All students worked in their groups and showed respect for each other as
evidenced by the way they appropriately listened to each other when they read
their writings.

When one student took excessive time to locate a pencil you quickly redirected
him to the task at hand. There was no inappropriate behaviors displayed
throughout my observation.

After each question you asked the student responding to "Think and explain your
answer".

You actively engaged all students in the lesson by saying "I need another voice".

You thoughtfully broke the students into pairs where one students' strength helped his partner. For example,
