PRESSURE DISTRIBUTION
All dimensions are in metre
As per IS 3370(part IV), Clause 2.2.2, in case of tank built below under ground
with earth covering the roof slab, there will be a trapezoidal distribution of
lateral earth pressure on the walls. In this case it gives the fairly good
approximation to substitute triangle with same area as the trapezoidal
representing the actual load distribution. The intensity of load is approximately
should be the same at mid-depth in both cases.
