The basic functions of A2000 include active, reactive & apparent bidirectional (import
and export) and up to 4 tariff energy metering and maximum demand indications.
Data can be retrieved via RS485 port (if available on meter) or optical port. The
communication protocol complies with IEC 62056-21 or DLMS. Also user can remote
read data via GPRS module, the communication protocol complies with IEC60810-5-
102 protocol or DMLS. Also data is displayed on LCD in large characters with IEC
62056-61 compliant OBIS codes.
2. High overload-multiplier energy metering (10 times multiplier metering for class
0.2S or 0.5S) by applying variable gain measurement and multi-section digital
compensation.
3. Active import and export energy, reactive 4-quadrant energy, and apparent
energy metering through data provided by energy measuring integrated chips.
4. 4-Tariffs and total energy metering of active import and export energy, reactive 4-
quadrant energy, and apparent energy.

6. Pulse indication of energy metering using two bright LED’s, which indicate active
energy on the left and reactive energy on the right. The duty cycle of LED output
is 50%. 6 Channel of impulses output, the pulse width is 80 milliseconds.
7. KWh and Kvarh per Phase: A2000 measures per phase import and export active
and reactive energy including:
All these values can be displayed on LCD or read from communication ports.
2. Calculating mode can be Block or Sliding. Sliding mode: sliding interval can be
set to 1, 2, 3, or 5 minutes and max demand cycle can be set to 5, 10, 15, 30, or
60 minutes. If demand cycle is set to 60 minutes, sliding interval can only be set
to 2, 3, or 5 minutes. Demand cycle must be integer multiplier of rolling interval.
Block Mode: demand cycle can be set to 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes.
3. Each average power of max demand cycle is calculated and recorded, which can
be read through load profile.
4. While recording the apparent max demand KVA, A2000 will record the
coincidental active average power KW of demand cycle for user to calculate
power factor.
1. Phase voltage (ABC) & current (ABC), power factor (Total, ABC), can be read
through optical port using IEC 62056-21 protocol, or displayed directly on LCD.
1. TOU can be controlled by configuring the parameters that are based on the
meter’s internal hardware real-time clock.
2. There are 3 levels of TOU controls, in preferential sequence, they are: “Public
Holiday”, “Weekend” and “Season”.
3. There are 4 sets of “daily-profile” tables. Public holidays, weekends and seasons
can be controlled by selecting one of 4 “daily-profile” tables.
4. TOU for public holidays can set 24 days for every year, and can set 100 special
days.
5. Weekend TOU can have up to 2 days as weekends for each week, and they can
be assigned different daily profile.
6. A year can be divided into up to 10 time sections (seasons). The shortest section
is one day and the longest section one year.
7. “Daily-profile” can divide a day into 10 time sections (intervals). Each section can
select one of 4 tariffs. The shortest time is one minute, and the longest one day.
2. The automatic data recording cycle is one month. The date of automatic data
recording can be set as non-zero value, namely date XX hour XX. Meter-reading
date can be chosen from 1 to 28.
1. A2000 meter provides scrolling recording function of load profile data. Data
sampling interval is programmable from 1 to 60 minutes. There are 27 channels
of data samplings available:
A2000 top part features a whole body design, therefore there is no need to weld the
top cover and monitor the top cover open events.
A2000 will register the terminal cover open events with open & close time. The latest 8
records will be saved in meter ready for being read into PC software.
If voltage of any phase is under 20 V, meter will record the phase failure.
1. It can record cumulative counts and minutes of phrase failure while one or two
phases fail. Up to 7 historical data can be stored in A2000 meter. Current data
will not be cleared by reset command.
2. It can respectively record the latest 8 times of start and stop time
(month/date/hour/minute) of phase failure
If any phase voltage is under 70% Un and corresponding phase current is above 5%
In, meter will record phase voltage loss.
2. It can record the last 8 times of start and stop time (month/date/hour/ minute) of
phase voltage loss
If any phase current is less than 5% In, meter will record phase current loss. It will
record cumulative counts and minutes, and start and stop time of phase current loss.
User can select the options to display Energy kWh and max demand kW values in
Primary values, i.e. with CT/VT ratio multiplied, or Secondary values, i.e. without
CT/VT multiplied.
Because A2000 can be configured to display the energy data as Primary value
or Secondary value, it is highly recommended to clear the energy data to avoid
wrong reading before changing the CT/VT values.
1. Passive pulse output interface with optical-coupling insulation for Voltage contact
of 12-80 VDC. 2 Channels of impulse outputs programmable to +/- kWh, +/-kvarh.
3. Auxiliary voltage supply input optional to power up the A2000 meter (optional).
Voltage Input: 60VDC-400VCD, or 40VAC-300VAC.
1. Through the magnetic optical port on the meter front, user can read and program
A2000 meter as per IEC 62056-21, default initial baud rate is 300 bps.
2. A2000 provides 1 channel of RS485, user can read and program A2000 meter
as per IEC 62056-21, and default initial baud rate is 9600 bps.
3. A2000 provides GPRS/GSM or Ethernet module (optional), user can read meter
data remote as per IEC60810-5-102 protocol or DMLS.
2. Operation Instructions
2.1 LCD Display
1. Full Screen Self-check
The display is automatic scrolling and can be used for routine monitoring. In this mode,
display will not stop after it finishes one sequence of display. Instead, it will start from
the beginning again. If display is interrupted due to reset or other operations, it
resumes after 1 minute.
2. Pushbutton Display:
User may continuously push button (up or down) until the needed data is displayed on
LCD. This can be used to check data records in the meter. A2000 will switch to this
mode once display button is pushed. In this mode, display time of each data item
extends 10 times longer. For example, if original display time is set as 8 seconds for
each data, display time for the same data is extended to 80 seconds. Next data will be
displayed once display button is pushed again. If display button is not pushed
throughout the period when a data is being displayed, meter will automatically switch
back to Automatic Display Mode.
After holding the display button for 5 seconds, the meter will enter into high precision
display mode, and the energy data will be displayed in 5 integer digits with 3 decimal
digits. The high precision display will be ended by pushing display button for 5
seconds again, or meter powers off, or new calendar day begins.
If the meter has been configured to display 3 or more decimal digits, this high
precision display mode will not take effective even pushing buttons for 5 seconds..
2.4 Programming
A2000 meter’s parameters can be configured from PC or from handheld programmer.
A2000 meter provides 3 levels of programming protection, lead-seal, push button and
programming password. In order to ensure data security and prevent non-authorized
operation, user must enter “programming status” by pressing reset button after
breaking the seal. User should unlock the seal lid on reset button, then press reset
button (for approximately 8 seconds) until LCD screen displays “PrG”. Now A2000 is
ready for programming.
A2000 meter will record the latest user programming date & time and the total counts.
Within 30 minutes, all programming commands will be recorded as only one record.
