 Description:

A one day industrial visit was organized for B.Pharm final year students for understanding
industrial prospective and working environment to enhance their pragmatic approach and
knowledge as per the requirement of university curriculum.

Students along with four faculty members have visited to Alkem Laboratories, Baddi,
Hiamchal Pradesh on 30th of Oct 2012,

Mr. Ajay, HR Manager had appointed his personnel for guiding students and arranging the
visit, the students gained entry into the production area and sent to the various section like
tablet, capsule, liquid oral, packaging and quality control departments.

 Tablet Section: Mr. Rahul, Manager (production) demonstrated the manufacturing of


cephalosporin tablets. He had explained about the raw material used and its quality testing
during the manufacturing of tablets.
 Syrup Section: Mr. Rahul, demonstrated the oral liquid manufacturing area, where he
explained about the production of Clavam Forte Dry Syrup.
 Quality control: Mr. Rahul also helped our students to understand the process of quality
assurance and control by ensuring the quality of raw material and finished product at every
process of formulation and development.
 Packaging: Mr. Rahul discussed and demonstrated the process of packaging namely blister
packaging, aluminum packaging etc.
 Injections and vial: Mr. Rahul demonstrated the production of injections and vials and their
labeling. He has also explained about GMP and validation process followed in Alkem.
 Mr. Rahul also talked about the demand of international market and the style of
manufacturing of products as per international demand.
 Our students have asked many questions regarding production pattern and packaging of
final product.

The visit concluded by offering regards to Mr. Ajay, Mr. Rahul and Alkem Labs.
