Marketing video for Hispanic Community Transcription in English
Dcn. Hector Donastorg, Director of Hispanic Ministry Dom. Republic For us education is incredibly important, I think just as it is for every Hispanic family. The education is not only an education at the intellectual level, but also at a spiritual level; and I personally think and feel that Catholic education is one of the best ways that our young people can have both. They can have a religious education that leads them to spiritual growth through an excellent education that enables them to climb mountains that we parents could never climb.
Archbishop Rodi (spoken in English with Spanish subtitles) Catholic schools are unique in that they educate the whole student: academically, socially, athletically, culturally and spiritually. We prepare our young people to be leaders in their families, in their churches, in their communities - but also to be in a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Vilaseca Bolivia y Cuba They have not only regular classes, they have the opportunity for classes in religion, classes in music, in art; they have a more variable teaching in the different subjects (“broad”). It is worth the sacrifice of putting our children in Catholic schools because they teach more and have more opportunities to make progress in the future and have connections. Everybody knows each other, all are friends, and the friendships last for years.
Neglen Colombia So far we have only been at school one year, and I am very happy. The teachers and all the staff that work in the school have given us a warm welcome; they are all very supportive with each step of the process. The teachers really are...they are interested in what they are doing. That is very important because if you like what you do, then you show it, and your students will want to be there learning things. And so, definitely, yes.
Barragán Mexico I remember when I started in kindergarten, I did not speak English and they were all very kind. They used signs to communicate with me - “oh, these are the colors” or things like that, and I never felt uncomfortable. They have also always treated me like family. Always in high school and since I was little my favorite class was religion and learning about God. My first year, I had a teacher who just started taking about the Bible, beginning from Genesis until the end of the Bible. In that class I understood, for the first time, that I wanted to be Catholic and not just because it was what my mother and father wanted; it was what I wanted.
Pettway Colombia The children grow together, they learn from the circumstances that they face, and they are always guided by the teachers, by the school, in the teachings of Christ.
Cordova Ecuador The education...one does not have to see it as a cost, but as an investment in a child because that is the legacy that we leave as parents to them, isn’t that right? Faith in God and their education.
Arias Nicaragua Children grow up disoriented in the world. If we as a parent don’t take them to the right path they will be lost. I would recommend that parents see (Catholic education) as an investment in children’s future... that they will provide a quality education and above all help promote those values and customs and things that are of God - the religion that elsewhere and in other schools will not have, do you understand? That and the tranquility that they give you. It gives me a lot of peace to send my daughters to the school they go to.
Sarceno Guatemala And also, it is very important the way that the schools treat and receive you because God has asked us to be one family, although we are many in the whole world, but we form a single family for the body of Christ.
Fr. Ingalls It’s very important for the Hispanic youth to be in our Catholic schools because as Christians we are the body of Christ in our schools. To have schools that are complete, to have a schools that are healthy, we need all the parts of the body present. If we don’t have our Hispanic youth it’s like having a body without an arm, without a leg, or a body that is not full, is not complete.

Closing (Ingalls) The Lord is waiting for you, the church is waiting for you, the future of your family, and your faith – it’s all waiting for you. Come and see.
