Executive Summary

The hospital was established by the assembly of doctors who were


working in USA. It was integrated as private. Limited company on 20th September 1987, as
private company limited it was converted as public limited company in 20th October 1989. This
hospital is scheduled in Karachi. Lahore and Islamabad accumulation interactions, this hospital
was fixed by a group of professionals working in USA.

The hospital’s group (originator and supporter) reserved getting higher all from corner to corner
the world. The Hospital by the time of aperture on June 26, 1993, over 400 plus sponsor
supported, with a rupee 500 million impartiality. Tur over this time the Hospital has not hired a
single rupee from any other basis.

Within three and half years, the Hospital’s Block-A with a five storey structure, plus decorate
slab area and a mosque with a total 100,000 square feet covered area was ready to take its first
patient on June 26, 1993.

Modest start from June 26, 1993, with eight consultants in seven specialties, has development to
more than 70 highly experienced consultants in approximately all specialties under one roof.

Shifa International Hospital bid 150 IPD beds with superiority care and OPD facility in 35
different specializations. On the other hand, it is as everlasting journey. Shifa improved by

Introduction of Al Shifa Hospital

The Hospital was incorporated on September 20, 1987 as a


Private Limited Company and converted into Public Limited Company on October 12, 1989.
The first Shifa office was established at the residence of Dr. Zaheer Ahmad in sector F-8/3 of
Islamabad. Later it was moved to a rental place in Blue Area (commercial buildings area in
Islamabad), and finally the site office building was established in January 1988.

Background Information

Construction activities started at the beginning of 1988 to


prepare a site for building a site for the establishment of the hospital. This foundation, on
October 12, 1989, sponsors 'parents and good wishes and colleagues' intervals were well done.
The idea of promoting a high-class medical facilities in Pakistan was in New York in mid-1985.
Earlier Dr. Dr Zahir Ahmed, who had just finished his internal medicine resignation, demanded a
meeting in his apartment in Brooklyn in New York during the weekend of July 20 and 21. Five
professionals gathered there and discussed the idea in detail and approved it. Participants
included Dr. Zahid from the Dr. Sharooq Ahmed, Dr. Masoor H. Qazi, Louisiana, Mr.
Muhammad Zahid, New York, New York, Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Sabir Ali, Palm B, Florida
and Dr. Zahir Dr.. Zohar Ahmad was asked to prepare a possible report and action plan. After
this, Dr Zahir Ahmed went to Islamabad on December 17, 1985 to start the project..After this,
the meeting was held for this project. The name SHIFA was approved because of its
comprehensiveness, originating from our culture, belief and values in totality. In 1987, in
Islamabad, in a 11 acres land in Islamabad, CRI, a hospital development company in Princeton,
New Jersey was employed for planning and design of the project. Mr. William Parker, Chief
Architect of the CRI headed the site in Islamabad in addition to other hospitals visiting Pakistan.
CRI finished its job in 1989. The Healing International Hospital offers a range of 3 9 8 IPD beds
with different skills in quality care and alternative facilities. Yet it is a dynamic journey. The
people of Shia are always tried to make every passing moment with the improvement and
innovation. Now after two decades, the healing International Hospital is proud that his own
brand name is a professionally professional professional with healing. Short history of Shafi
observes the intimate beliefs and beliefs of its consultants, management and staff who visited the
clock to make the fact that the Shiite reality was right. This foundation was the view of sponsors
who actually took their shape. The task was made only with the dedicated team of experts and
