Installation Procedure for the Chezy PP inspection chamber (with side outlet). Chamfer the 100 mm uPVC pipes that are to enter the inspection chamber. Ensure that there is no earth or sand in the sockets. Push the pipes into the sockets of the chamber and work backwards from the chamber to the point of entry into the ground. Use 45 degree bends where required. Place these bends as close to the chamber as possible.

Installation Procedure (Method Statement) for the installation of the
Chezy PP inspection chamber (with side outlet)
1) Dig hole to a depth of 300mm (1 foot) below the connection to the
branch pipe that leads to the main sewer line. Ensure that the hole is wide enough to provide sufficient working space. 2) Level the bottom of the hole by tamping (compacting) the ground, ensure that there are no stones larger than 25 mm. Backfill with earth and tamp for an additional 150 mm (6 inches). 3) Ensure that there is no material/earth in the branch socket/pipe and that the rubber ring in the socket is free of earth/sand and is well lubricated. Connect the base/body of the inspection chamber to the branch line leading to the main sewer line by pushing the body/base into the socket of the branch line. 4) By using a liquid level gauge, ensure that the body of the chamber is level. 5) Locate the position of where all the pipes going to the inspection chamber within and outside the building will enter the ground level. Dig tranches sufficiently wide from these positions to the inspection chamber (200 mm wider than the diameter of the pipe), depth of the trench should be sufficient to allow the pipes to pass below the ground beam. 6) Rotate the body of the chamber such that the maximum numbers of sockets are able to be fixed to the incoming tranches. Tranches that are not in line with the sockets of the inspection chamber can be joined to the chamber by the use of 45 degree bends. Push body back to the base of the inspection chamber after the optimum socket positions have been identified. Use liquid level gauge to ensure that the chamber is still level after connecting the body to the base. 7) Chamfer the 100 mm uPVC pipes that are to enter the inspection chamber. Ensure that there is no earth or sand in the sockets and that the rubber rings are well lubricated. Push the pipes into the sockets of the chamber and work backwards from the chamber to the point of entry of the pipes into the ground. Use 45 degree bends where required. Place these bends as close to the chamber as possible. Ensure that the pipes stick 150mm (6 inches) out of the ground. Fill a sack with earth and place it in the body/base of the chamber. 8) Ensure that the sack (cloth) covers the edges of the body of the chamber. Back fill the trenches and the hole where the chamber is located, tamping every 100 mm of backfill being filled. Tamp to 100mm above the pipes. Ensure all the while that there are no stones larger than 20 mm that are in contact with the pipes or inspection chamber. Back fill to ground level. Place indicator so that location of the inspection chamber base and body can be located at a later date. 9) To complete the chamber installation at a later date, locate the indicator. Dig carefully until the depth of the body of the chamber is reached. Remove the sack from within the chamber body and base. Clean the inside of the chamber. Push the riser of the inspection chamber into the body. Cut the riser to the required height, use liquid level gauge to ensure that the top of the riser is level. Push collar and cover on to the riser, adjust to the required level. Place liquid level gauge on the cover to ensure that cover is level. Backfill, tamping every 100 mm, until the top of the collar, again ensure that there are no stones larger than 20 mm in contact with the riser or collar. Concrete surround the collar to a depth and width of 50 mm (2 inches). Screw the cover into the collar to prevent removal. The job is completed.
