Inspiration
It is Christmas Eve and Clara waits patiently for the Stahlbaum Christmas party to begin.
Dressed in her prettiest clothes, Clara dances around the Christmas tree hanging decorations
as she pirouettes. She is excited about the imminent arrival of her dear Godfather, the
magician and toymaker Drosselmeyer. Little does Clara know of the magical journey that is
soon to unfold at her feet…

Face

Use yarn C to embroider eyes to face. Split one

length of yarn into individual plies and use 1 ply
to create eye-lashes. Work one tiny stitch in
yarn D to create a ‘sparkle’ to each eye.
(See Figure below for guidance.)

The figure above shows the placement of the

skirt, and the back of the beaded waistband.

Shoes

Use yarn A to stitch ballet shoe ribbons to each

ankle. One strand of yarn around ankle and
one cross of yarn to front.

Skirt

Wet block skirt and allow to dry. Pull skirt over

legs and position under beaded waistband.
Whip/over stitch skirt to waist of doll sewing
under front loops of cast-off edge and right
‘legs’ of waist stitches.
