Fiber Artist Teddy Bear, PDF Crochet Pattern

The Knot Heads
You can use any thread or yarn to
make your bear. The finished bears
pictured, are approximately 2 3/4”
head –toe, (2 1/4” sitting), using
fingering / sock weight yarn.
Materials:
-One skein of Quince and Co brand, Finch
yarn, (100% wool, 221yd [202m] / 50g)
-Color Belize (blue), Carrie’s Yellow,
Dogwood (pink), or Clay (coral)
-Quality Polyfiber fil (stuffing)
-Cotton threads/or wool for the face

Tools I used:
-size 6 crochet hook
-Scissors
-Large sewing/tapestry needles
-Needle Nose Pliers
Pattern abbreviations:
Rnd = round
Sc = single crochet
Hdc= half double crochet
Dc= double crochet
Sl st= slip stitch
St(s)= stitch(es)
Inc = increase by crocheting 2 stitches
in one (unless otherwise noted).
Dec = decrease is crocheting 2 stitches
together
Numbers in parenthesis (*) are the total
number of stitches at the end of each
round
Instructions
Starting at the top of the head, and
working in continuous rounds. Mark
your rounds if needed.
Rnd 1. Chain 2 and make 8 sc in 2nd
chain from hook (8sc)
Rnd 2. 2 sc in each sc around (16)
Rnd 3. (Sc in the first st, inc in the next)
do 8 times (24)
Rnd 4. Sc in the first 2 sts, inc in the
next 4sts, sc in the next 8, inc in the
next 4 sts, sc in remaining 6 (32)
Rnds 5-7. Sc in each st around (32)
Rnd 8. Sc in 14, 3 hdc in the next st, sc
in remaining 17 sts (34). Note: mark
hdc, for muzzle, if needed.
Rnds 9-11. Sc in each st around (34)
Rnd 12. Sc in 15, dec 2 times (under
muzzle), sc in remaining 15 (32)
Rnd 13. Sc in each st around (32)
Rnd 14. Sc in 4, dec 4 times, sc in 8,
dec 4 times, sc in remaining 4 (24)
Rnd 15. (Sc in the first st, dec next) 8
times (16)
Rnd 16. Dec 8 times (8)
Note: Fasten off leaving 8”–10”
length for sewing and stuff with
fiberfill

Rnd 15. Sc in each st around (24)
Rnd 16. (Sc in 2 sts, dec next), do 6
times (18)
Rnd 17. (Sc in 1 st, dec next) do 6
times (12)
Rnd 18. Dec 6 times (6)
Fasten off leaving 8”-10” length for
sewing. Stuff limbs with stuffing.

To make the body:

Rnd 1. Chain 2 and make 6 sc in 2nd
chain from hook (6sc)
To Make Arms:
Rnd 2. 2 sc in each st around (12)
Rnd 1. Chain 2 and make 5 sc in 2nd
Rnd 3. (Sc in the first st, inc in the next) chain from hook (5 sc)
do 6 times (18)
Rnd 2. Sc in each st around (5)
Rnds 4-6. Sc in each st around (18)
Rnds 3. Sc in the first 3 sts, hdc in
Rnd 7. (Sc in the first 2 sts, inc in the each of the last 2 sts, (5)

Rnd 4. Repeat rnd 3.
Rnd 8. Sc in the first 8 sts, inc in each
of the next 4, sc in the remaining 12 (28) Rnd 5. Sc in the first st, inc in the next,

Rnd 6. Sc in the first 2 sts, inc in the

Rnds 8-10. Sc in each st around (8)
Rnd 11. Sc in 4 sts, do 2 dec (6)
Fasten off leaving 8”-10” length for
sewing. Stuff limbs with stuffing.
Rnd 6. Sc in 3 sts, inc in each of the
next 2 sts, sc in last 2 sts (9)
Rnd 7. Sc in 6 sts, inc in the next, sc in
remaining 2 sts (10)
Rnds 8&9. Sc in each sts around (10)
Rnd 11. Sc in 4 sts, dec 4 times (6)
Fasten off leaving length for sewing.
Stuff your limbs with stuffing.

To Make Legs:
Starting at the bottom of the feet…
Rnd 1. Chain 6 and sc in 2nd chain from
hook. Working through one chain loop,
sc in each of the next 3 sts, 3 sc in last
chain loop, working on the opposite side
of beginning chain, sc in each of the To Make Ears:
next 3 sts, inc in the last chain loop (12) Rnd 1. Chain 2 and make 5 sc in 2nd
chain from hook (5sc)

Rnd 2. Sc in each st around (12) Fasten off leaving length for sewing.

Rnd 3. Sc in the first 3 sts, dec 3 times,

sc in remaining 3 sts (9)
Rnd 4. Sc in each of the first 2 sts, dec
3 times, sc in last st (6)
Rnd 5. Sc in each of 3 sts, inc in the
next, sc in each of the last 2 sts (7)

For the Face:

I used embroidery stitching, primitive,
