Notiﬁcaciones de accidentes de trabajo, incidentes peligrosos y enfermedades ocupacionales
PRESENTACIÓN
El Ministerio de Trabajo y Promoción del Empleo presenta el primer número del año 2019 del
“Boletín Estadístico de Notificaciones de Accidentes de Trabajo, Incidentes Peligrosos y
Enfermedades Ocupacionales”, correspondiente al mes de octubre de 2018, elaborado por
la Oficina de Estadística en coordinación con la Dirección General de Derechos Fundamentales
y Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo.
El boletín tiene por finalidad presentar información sistematizada que contribuya a la mejor
gestión de la problemática de la seguridad y salud en el trabajo en el país, facilitando la toma
de decisiones informada y la adopción de medidas preventivas y correctivas oportunas. A su
vez, el boletín representa un instrumento técnico de divulgación de la estadística nacional que
tiene como fuente las notificaciones efectuadas por los empleadores y centros médicos
asistenciales a través del Sistema Informático de Notificación de Accidentes de Trabajo,
Incidentes Peligrosos y Enfermedades Ocupacionales – SAT, disponible en el portal
institucional https://www.gob.pe/mtpe.
De acuerdo con el SAT, en el mes de octubre de 2018 se registraron 2 404 notificaciones lo

que representa un aumento del 0,2% respecto al mes de octubre del año anterior, y un
aumento de 55,5% con respecto al mes de setiembre del año 2018. Del total de notificaciones,
el 96,5% corresponde a accidentes de trabajo no mortales, el 2,2% a incidentes peligrosos, el
0,7 a enfermedades ocupacionales y el 0,6% a accidentes mortales. La actividad económica
que tuvo mayor número de notificaciones fue industrias manufactureras con el 28,0% seguido
de: actividades inmobiliarias, empresariales y de alquiler con el 14,8%; comercio con el 11,3%;
transporte, almacenamiento y comunicaciones con 10,3%; construcción con el 9,2%; entre
otras.
Las formas de accidentes de trabajo más frecuentes fueron: golpes por objetos (excepto
caídas); caída de personas a nivel; esfuerzos físicos o falsos movimientos; aprisionamiento o
atrapamiento; entre otras formas. Por otro lado, los principales agentes causantes fueron:
herramientas (portátiles, manuales, mecánicas, eléctricas, etc.); materias primas; máquinas y
equipos en general; piso; y escaleras.
Asimismo, en el mes de octubre entre las notificaciones de accidentes de acuerdo a las partes
del cuerpo lesionadas, destaca el mayor número de lesiones de dedos de la mano con el
17,9%; ojos (con inclusión de los párpados, la órbita y el nervio óptico) con el 10,7%; mano
(con excepción de los dedos solos) con el 7,5%; región lumbosacra (columna vertebral y
muscular adyacentes) con el 7,3%; pie (con excepción de los dedos) con el 5,7%; y pierna con
el 5,5%.
Cabe precisar que, existe un importante porcentaje de notificaciones en las cuales los usuarios
han seleccionado en diferentes campos la opción “otros” como una alternativa genérica.

De acuerdo con el Sistema Informático de Notificación de Accidentes de Trabajo, Incidentes Peligrosos y

Enfermedades Ocupacionales – SAT, en el mes de octubre de 2018 se registraron 2 404 notificaciones lo
que representa un aumento del 0,2% respecto al mes de octubre del año anterior, y un aumento de
55,5% con respecto al mes de setiembre del año 2018. Del total de notificaciones, el 96,5% corresponde a
accidentes de trabajo no mortales, el 2,2% a incidentes peligrosos, el 0,7 a enfermedades ocupacionales y
el 0,6% a accidentes mortales. La actividad económica que tuvo mayor número de notificaciones fue
industrias manufactureras con el 28,0% seguido de: actividades inmobiliarias, empresariales y de alquiler
con el 14,8%; comercio con el 11,3%; transporte, almacenamiento y comunicaciones con 10,3%; entre
otras.

A nivel nacional las formas de accidentes de trabajo no mortales más frecuentes son: golpes por objetos
(excepto caídas) (11,9%); caída de personas a nivel (7,5%); esfuerzos físicos o falsos movimientos (7,2%),
aprisionamiento o atrapamiento (6,5%), caída de objetos (5,7%), entre otras formas.

De acuerdo con el SAT, en el mes de setiembre de 2018 se registraron en Lima Metropolitana 1 646 notificaciones de
accidentes de trabajo no mortales y mortales lo que representa el 51,3% respecto al número de notificaciones a nivel
nacional, lo cual resulta mayor a la concentración de la Población Económicamente Activa (PEA) ocupada de la región
Lima que representa el 31,4% del total nacional (ENAHO 2017).
En segundo orden se ubica la región Callao con 360 notificaciones de accidentes de trabajo no mortales y mortales
(14,9%), seguido de Arequipa con 128 registros (4,8%) y, Piura con 109 registros (4,5%). Estas 3 regiones representan el
12,9% de la PEA ocupada nacional.
