Part IV: Your Career Plan

The career I’m most interested in is following down the path of pediatrics. Ever since I could remember I
have always wanted to be a doctor. Being able to treat people was always my specialty. I would always
my doctors coat and med kit by me at all times. I have fallen in love with this career because it is a great
opportunity for me to treat patients. And I always liked to take care of kids so this career follows both
my specialties in taking care of people and kids.

The career path that I will need to pursue this career is first attend a 4 year college earn my bachelor’s
degree. Complete a medical school program where I will earn my doctorate in 4 years. Complete a
residency in pediatrics a 3 year program where It will show you how to treat children. And finally obtain
my license, where it allows my to practice in the state of where I choose.

To start the path to becoming a Pediatrician, in high school I would have to take plenty of challenging
math and science classes. Where I would be taught the basics in science and biology to prepare me for med
school. I would also have to enhance my communication skills through English Composition, speech. And
volunteer work at clinics, hospitals, women’s clinics or elder care facility.
Part V: Backup Plan
My back up plan if my plan doesn’t work, I would look for a job to be able to support my family and myself. And
when the time is right and I am better financially I would try to attend college. If my parents lose their jobs and
cannot pay for my schooling I would get a job and see if I can get a loan that I can afford to pay off every
month. It I fail I will work harder than ever to make sure I can stay in the school and if that doesn’t work ill just get
a job and see what follows after. And if a family member gets sick I will take care of them while attending
school.
