“
But
now
God
has
shown
us
how
to
become
right
with
him.
The
Law
and
the
Prophets
give
witness
to
this.
It
has
nothing
to
do
with
obeying
the
law.
22
We
are
made
right
with
God
by
putting
our
faith
in
Jesus
Christ.
That
happens
to
all
who
believe.
It
is
no
different
for
the
Jews
than
for
anyone
else.
23
Everyone
has
sinned.
No
one
measures
up
to
God’s
glory.
24
The
free
gift
of
God’s
grace
makes
all
of
us
right
with
him.
Christ
Jesus
paid
the
price
to
set
us
free.
25
God
gave
him
as
a
sacrifice
to
pay
for
sins.
So
he
forgives
the
sins
of
those
who
have
faith
in
his
blood.”
–
Romans
3:21-‐25
“Jesus
entered
Jericho
and
was
passing
through.
2
A
man
named
Zacchaeus
lived
there.
He
was
a
chief
tax
collector
and
was
very
rich.
3
Zacchaeus
wanted
to
see
who
Jesus
was.
But
he
was
a
short
man.
He
could
not
see
Jesus
because
of
the
crowd.
4
So
he
ran
ahead
and
climbed
a
sycamore-‐fig
tree.
He
wanted
to
see
Jesus,
who
was
coming
that
way.
5
Jesus
reached
the
spot
where
Zacchaeus
was.
He
looked
up
and
said,
“Zacchaeus,
come
down
at
once.
I
must
stay
at
your
house
today.”
6
So
Zacchaeus
came
down
at
once
and
welcomed
him
gladly.
7
All
the
people
saw
this.
They
began
to
whisper
among
themselves.
They
said,
“Jesus
has
gone
to
be
the
guest
of
a
‘sinner.’”
8
But
Zacchaeus
stood
up.
He
said,
“Look,
Lord!
Here
and
now
I
give
half
of
what
I
own
to
those
who
are
poor.
And
if
I
have
cheated
anybody
out
of
anything,
I
will
pay
it
back.
I
will
pay
back
four
times
the
amount
I
took.”
9
Jesus
said
to
Zacchaeus,
“Today
salvation
has
come
to
your
house.
You
are
a
member
of
Abraham’s
family
line.
10
The
Son
of
Man
came
to
look
for
the
lost
and
save
them.”

Luke
19:1-‐10
Key
Points:
• To
get
a
good
picture
of
salvation,
we
must
start
with
a
good
picture
of
the
nature
of
God.
The
Bible
is
one
continuous
story
of
God
seeking
after
the
heart
of
His
creation.
• The
TRULY
good
news
of
the
Gospel
message?
Salvation
is
for
us
ALL!
• John
Wesley’s
illustration
of
the
different
forms
of
grace:
o Prevenient
Grace
–
the
Grace
which
goes
before
us
o Convicting
Grace-‐
the
Grace
which
brings
us
into
God’s
presence
o Justifying
Grace-‐
the
Grace
where
we
accept
who
God
is
and
what
He
has
done
for
each
of
us
through
the
sacrifice
of
Jesus
on
the
cross
o Sanctifying
Grace-‐
living
a
grace-‐filled,
changed
life
as
a
result.

Discussion
questions:
• Think
about
the
different
types
of
grace.
What
keeps
you
from
moving
through
the
door
(justifying
grace)
and
into
the
house
(sanctifying
grace)?
Another
way
to
ask
this
question
is
this:
what
makes
it
hard
to
walk
in
Jesus’
footsteps?
• Read
John
3:16.
What
are
some
things
you
can
do
this
week
to
remind
yourself
daily
of
God’s
love
for
you
and
the
salvation
that
you
have
through
the
gift
of
His
son,
Jesus
Christ?
