You are to make a visual acrostic with the 13 letters in the phrase “Acids and

Bases.”

Each letter should contain the word/term and then an illustration for that
word/term.

The letter may fall in the middle of a word/term. For example, you could use the T
in soluTion and then illustrate, inside the T, the characteristics of a solution.

A sheet of paper must accompany your acrostic with the word/term for each letter.
You also need to write one sentence for each letter that describes what your
illustration shows. For example, a drawing of a red and blue liquid blending
together to make a purple liquid might be accompanied by the sentence “Liquids
that have the same polarity are miscible.

As I grade your project, I will be considering the following:


 Were you thorough? Did you cover a variety of concepts from the
entire acid/base unit?
 Does your project show depth and thinking beyond the obvious? Not
– “Liquids are often involved in solutions.”
 How creatively did you present your ideas?
 Did you use the vocabulary and concepts accurately?

13 letters X up to 4 points each = 52 points
depth and thoroughness = 15 points
appearance (neat, colorful, etc) = 20 points
creativity = 13 points
