Maintain OEE KPI Targets

Target Definition at Site Level:

Targets for Availability, Performance, Quality and OEE KPIs are delivered as default at Site
Level. These targets are available as Activity Rules in the ‘OEE_POD’ Activity.

The site level target definitions can be overridden at individual Resources as part of Custom Data.
The values are taken as RED, YELLOW and GREEN ranges from left to right

Target Definition at Resource Level

Customers can maintain targets at individual Resources which will override the default targets
maintained at Site Level.

Targets are defined as part of Custom Data. The Data Fields are to be uploaded via
CustomFieldDefBO.idat using the Data Exchange Framework and the target values to be defined
as Data Attributes in the application

The values are taken as RED, YELLOW and GREEN ranges from left to right.

OEE Operator Dashboard

For the data to be available in the OEE POD (Production->Product->POD-OEE), all the above
procedural steps need to be followed.

For the order data to be available in the OEE POD, shop orders need to be released and executed
in any of the SAP ME PODs.

· OEE Operator Dashboard typically contains filters for Resource, Date, Shift, Order and
Operation selection
· Info Cards: Order Card, Untagged Events, List of Resources along with status in the Site
· KPI Tiles
· Resource Availability Strip OEE POD Filters

You can select the Resource, Date and one of the assigned shifts, operation and order values from
the dropdown to view the order details, KPI details, Untagged Events and Availability Strip.

If there are no shifts assigned to the Resource, Shift filter is defaulted to 24 hours shift.

Note: SFCs must be started and completed for the corresponding Shop Orders to be available in
the Order filter section of OEE POD.

SAP ME How To Guide for OEE OEE POD Info Cards

Order Card Details contain information about the Order Status, Operation Details, Standard Rate
of the Resource, Start and Completion time of the order, Production that was planned, produced
both on the whole and per shift.

Untagged Events displays all the Unscheduled Down or Scheduled Down events that were
recorded for the shift without any reason codes assigned.

Resource status change – The status of the Resource can be changed in real time from the OEE

SAP ME How To Guide for OEE KPI Tile

A KPI Tile contains:

· Availability KPI – Availability of the Resource for the selected Resource, Date and Shift
· Performance KPI – Performance of the Resource by measuring the Actual Production against the
Planned Production defined as per the Standard Rate maintained in Standard Rate Maintenance
per Operation
· Quality KPI – Quality of Production of the Resource by measuring the Good Production against
the Total Production per Operation
· OEE KPI – Product of Availability KPI *Performance KPI * Quality KPI Availability Strip

· Past shift: Performance strip is of Shift boundaries
· No shift defined: Performance strip is of 24 hours
· Current shift: Performance strip is of Now – 8 hours

Manage Downtimes
You can create and view downtimes for the list of Resources by navigating to Manage
Downtimes screen from the OEE POD.

· Users can view the list of downtimes that are recorded based on the Resource, Date and Shift
· Downtimes can be further filtered by selecting Scheduled, Unscheduled or Minor Tabs.
· Search Box also enables the user to further filter the Downtimes by Resource, Type or Reason
· Users can create a downtime in past, edit or split the existing record from here
· Users can also create a PM Notification against the Unscheduled Downtime record Create Downtime

You can create a Downtime against a Resource by selecting a date or shift in the past for the
Offline Downtime Entry.

· Users can set the new status of a Resource

· Assign the Reason Codes that are filtered based on the Reason Code Assignment against the
Resource in section
· Define the Start Time, End Time or Duration of Downtime
· Add Comments
For real time entries, users can directly change the status of the resource right on the dashboard

SAP ME How To Guide for OEE Edit downtime

· You can Edit the Downtime Record by selecting a Record from the Manage Downtime screen.
· Users can edit the Resource Status, Reason Code, Start Time, End Time and Duration of the
· User can also Assign Reason Codes from the Manage Downtime screen manually.

SAP ME How To Guide for OEE Split Downtime

You can split an existing downtime Record by duration and assign different Reason Codes

SAP ME How To Guide for OEE Minor Downtimes

A Minor Downtime either can affect Performance OR the Availability of the Resource based on the OEE
System Rule “Minor Downtime considered in KPI Calculation”. See OEE System Rules for more details.

All the downtimes that are recorded with a duration less than or equal to the threshold maintained in the
System Rule Maintenance – “Minor Downtimes threshold in minutes” are listed under Minor Tab

Example: if the System Rule Minor Downtimes threshold in minutes is set to 3 Minutes, then all
downtimes created with 3 or less than 3 minutes are categorized as Minor Downtime.

These Minor downtimes are shown as aggregated when Reason Codes are not assigned and individual
records can also be seen.

Manage Speed Loss

You can filter by Resource, Date, Shift, Order and Operation to view:

· Planned Production: Planned Production Quantity based on the Standard Rate for the Net
Production time of the SFCs
· Produced in Current Shift: Actual quantity completion on the selected operation of the Shop Order
in the selected shift
· Reported Speed Loss – Speed Loss reported manually in minutes.
· Tagged Minor Stoppage – Minor Downtimes tagged with Reason Codes from the Downtimes
· Untagged Minor Stoppages – Minor downtimes that affect Performance and are not tagged.
· Untagged Speed loss – Open Speed loss that is calculated in real time that is not tagged.

When the Untagged Speed Loss value is greater than zero, you can click Tag Speed Loss and specify a
duration and assign a Reason code that acts as a Reported Speed Loss as shown in the above picture.

Raise Notification
You can create a Maintenance Notification against an Unscheduled Downtime that will be
notified to SAP ERP. For this, a Resource needs to be mapped with a Functional Location and
Equipment that is maintained in SAP ERP.

SAP ME How To Guide for OEE

Create Notification
You can select the Downtime record and create a Notification.

On the Add New Notification screen, the user can select the Functional Location/Equipment, Notification
Type maintained in the System Rule –’ERP Notification Types’ to create the Notification. Refer to OEE
System Rules.

On Creating the Notification, a notification number is generated from SAP ERP and displayed on the
Notifications tab.

SAP ME How To Guide for OEE

Notifications can also be viewed and a Standalone Notification can be created from the Notification tab
which would be available when the Activity Rule ‘ENABLE_PM_NOTIFICATION’ is set to True in the
OEE_POD activity as in the Maintain OEE KPI Targets section.

Extension: Raise Email Alerts

You can raise custom Email Alerts using ME Services and Custom Activity on the Resource
Status Change. Email server configuration in System Rule Maintenance is necessary to raise
email notification.

Go to Service Extension Maintenance and create an extension on ResourceConfigurationService -

> changeResourceStatus.

The custom developer’s guide describes how to create service extension activities (see the Service
