ENGLISH SYNOPSIS
Movie 'Adam’s Rib' is a 1949 American film directed by George Cukor. It is a funny and
farcical look at the legal system, marriage, and the meaning of equality in our society. The plot
of story is based on domestic and professional tensions mount when a husband and wife work as
opposing lawyers in a case involving a woman who shot her husband.
Movie 'Witness for the Prosecution' is a 1957 American courtroom drama film with elements
of Film Noir set in the Old Bailey in London. The film, based on a short story by Agatha
Christie, deals with the trial of a man accused of murder .
The movie Adam’s Rib took its inspiration from a real court case. The film offers a surprisingly
faithful depiction of what really happens during a legal case. The film is about the battle over
sexual equality which spills over into the personal lives of a lawyer husband and his lawyer wife.
The movie portrays hillarious battle of sexes but in largely acclaimed finest comedies.
The movie Witness for the Prosecution is considered a movie with a surprise ending. Agatha
christie’s story and the wonderful courtroom thriller is the reason behind choosing the movie for
review. Basically a serious story with a classic of the courtroom genre. The film portrays some
very finely tuned twists.

screenplay and the storyline.
