Entendemos que para a construção de uma proposta de ensino de Língua
Estrangeira dessa natureza deve-se considerar o mundo globalizado e tecnologicamente conectado no qual estamos inseridos, exigindo, sobretudo, uma visão mais crítica e consciente do poder da linguagem na construção de visões de mundo e das identidades [...] Sabemos que as LEs (línguas estrangeiras) desempenham, na atualidade, um papel preponderante nas interações sociais, profissionais e culturais que acontecem a cada segundo. Falar e/ou ler e comunicar-se em LE são, de fato, competências bastante exigidas para que essas interações aconteçam e, por isso, o ensino de LE nas últimas décadas tem se preocupado com a aquisição da língua principalmente como instrumento ou meio de comunicação, com enfoque nas suas dimensões gramatical (e estrutural), discursiva (e pragmática), sociolinguística (e cultural) e estratégica (não verbal), o que foi concebido como Competência Comunicativa, no início dos anos 80, por Canale & Swain (Brown, 2000).
