Nokia 6110 Secrets

Posted by admin On July - 4 - 2008

Please Note: We try to provide every kind of tips of secrets related to

various models of Nokia Mobile. All these Secrets are taken from trusted
sources and we have also tested many of them but still we can’t guarantee if
they will work properly for you. Feel free to take these tips and try on your
own risk. We won’t be held responsible for any damages caused to your
mobile phone. Hopefully nothing such will happen

Nokia 6110 Secrets:

*#06# for checking the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity)

Information you get from the IMEI:

XXXXXX XX XXXXXX X

TAC FAC SNR SP

TAC = Type approval code

FAC = Final assembly code

SNR = Serial number

SP = Spare

*#0000# To view Software Version.

*#6110# Try this code if the above code doesn’t work.

#746025625# [*#SIM0clock#]

Checks if the SIM clock can be stopped. SIM clock stop is a kind of stand-by
mode which will save battery time. This code doesn’t work with software
version 4.59.

*#92702689# [*#war0anty#] You don’t need the warranty-codes any more

- you can just scroll through the information like in any other menu. It has
the same data as 81xx and 31xx phones (with “Edit” button for purchase
date, and “User data transfer”). Menu:

1: Displays Serial Number.

2: Displays the Month and Year of Manufacture (0997)

3: Displays (if there) the date where the phone was purchased (MMYY) you
can here set the Purchasing Date (Warning: You can only do this once - so be
careful what you write…)

4: Displays the date of the last repaired - if found (0000)

6: Does anyone know if this is for upgrading the phone’s EEPROM?? (Transfer
user data?)

Enhanced Full Rate Codec (EFR):

On: Enter *3370# and EFR will be activated after a reboot of the phone
( consumes more power )

Off: Enter #3370# and EFR will be switched off after a reboot of the phone.

Half Rate Codec:

On: Enter *4720# and Half Rate coded will be activated after a reboot of the
phone ( better standby time )

Off: Enter #4720# and Half Rate coded will be de-activated after a reboot of
the phone

Network Monitor:

There is a hidden menu inside your Nokia phone. If you want to activate it,
you’ll have to re-program some chips inside of your phone.

1.Check your software version. You can only continue if you have v4.33,
v4.73 or v5.24.

2.Take apart the phone.

3. De-solder the EEPROM (ATMEL AT 24C64).

4. Read out the data with an EEPROM programmer and save it to a file
(Backup).

5. If you have v.33 or v4.73, change the address “03B8″ from “00″ to “FF”.

6. If you have v5.24 then change the address “0378″ from “00″ to “FF”.

7. Write the new data to the EEPROM and solder it back to the phone.

8. Power on your phone and you should have “Net monitor” enabled.
The Network Monitor gives you the following information.

Carrier number

MS RX Level in DBM

Received signal quality

MS TX power level C1 (Path loss criterion, used for cell selection and
reselection). The range is -99 to 99.

RTL (Radio link timeout).

Timeslot

Indication of the transmitter status

Information on the Network parameters.

TMSI (Temporary Mobile Subscriber Identity).

Cell identification (Cell ID, Number of cells being used).

MCC (Mobile country code)

MCN (Mobile network code)

LAC (Location area code)

Ciphering (On/Off)

Hopping (On/Off)

DTX (On/Off)

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Finish xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Nokia 6110 Secrets:

Discard cell barred information.

The Reboot Trick:

Should work on all software versions.

1. Go to calendar (menu - 8 )
2. Make note / reminder

3. Enter some text into the edit box

4. Hold clear until whole text is cleared, then press Back

5. Press 0. Main screen is shown but a space appears on the screen. You
can’t see it of course.

6. Enter 4 digits (1234, for example)

7. Use the down arrow to move the cursor to the left side of the numbers and
the space (2 times down arrow)

8. Now enter 6 digits and press the green “Call button”.

Wait some seconds…the phone will now flash the background light and finally
reboot. The trick should also work on other menus like the profile menu…

The James Bond Trick:

If you short-circuit the left middle and right pins on the bottom of the phone
with all connections touching each other, the Nokia software hangs! The
profile “Headset” will be activated. Before you do this just activate the
“Automatic Answer” in the headset profile and set the ringing volume to
“Mute”. Now you can use your phone for checking out what people are
talking about in a room. Just place it under a table in a room and call it. The
phone receives the call without ringing and you can listen to what people are
saying.

Service Provider Lock:

The service provider (SP) lock is used to lock the cell phone to the SP’s SIM
card. Once the cell phone is locked to a specific operator, if one inserts a SIM
card from a different operator the phone will refuse to accept it! The cell
phone will however accept another SIM card from the same operator.

All Nokia phones (2110 and newer) have four different SIM locks which can
be used to lock the phone for up to 4 different providers. But most phones
with restriction only have one lock activated. ( lock 1)

The main code used in Nokia phones is:

#pw+(master code)+Y#

This code is able to check, activate or remove SIM card restriction (SP-lock).
Use the * key to get the p, + and w chars.

‘Y’ has to be 1,2,3 or 4 - depending of what lock you what to deal with.

#pw+1234567890+1# for Provider-Lock status

#pw+1234567890+2# for Network-Lock status

#pw+1234567890+3# for Country-Lock status

#pw+1234567890+4# for SIM Card-Lock status

# = DOUBLE-CROSS

W = PRESS “*” THREE TIMES

P = PRESS “*” FOUR TIMES

+ = PRESS “*” TWO TIMES

MASTERCODE = 1234567890

Y = NUMBER 1 TO 4

(master code) is a 10 digit code, based on the phones IMEI number.

(I can NOT give you the master code - SO DON’T ASK ME FOR IT !!!!!!!)

Eg. To remove restriction on lock 1 type following code:

#pw+(master code)+1#

If you just want to check your phone use 10 random numbers Eg.
1234567890 as the (master code)

eg. To check if phone if restricted on lock 1 type the following code:

#pw+1234567890+1#

Please NOTE that these codes could be used with care! A user told me that
it’s only possible to type in about 3 different codes on each lock! Then
something bad will happen ..therefore be careful!

Nokia 6110 Secrets And Tips:

Power Button Tip:

If you press the button for a short moment, the menu with the profiles is
shown on the display. If you press one more time, the mobile turns itself off.
You can use the up and down cursor keys to scroll and enable a different
alert setting.

The 54# Tip:

Type 1#, 2#……..54# on the keypad (when you’re not in the menu) to get
the phone number used for with this key when speed dialing.

Free Call Tip:

NB. The tips needs Net Monitor enabled. Be aware that the trick wil remove
Net monitor in some Software versions like v4.73, v5.04 and v5.24.

1. Launch the Net Monitor in your Nokia 51xx / 61xx

2. Execute the test number 497

3. Free calling for about 90 sec should now have been activated.

The trick has not been confirmed working yet.

Revealing the Headphone and Car-Kit menus

Please note that if you do these next tricks, the new menus can’t be erased
without restoring the factory default settings. To do these tricks you need to
short-circuit the pins on the bottom of the phone next to where you plug in
you charger.

1. To activate the “Headset” menu, you need to short-circuit pins “3″ and
“4″. After a short time the word “Headset” will be shown in the display. Menu
3-6 is now enabled.

2. To activate the “Car” menu, you need to short-circuit pins “4″ and “5″.
After a short time the word “Car” will be shown in the display. Menu 3-7 is
now enabled.

Quick SMS Typing:

When typing SMS messages, you have to wait some seconds before you can
type the next letter if it is in the same button than the previous one. For
example try to write the word “letter”, you have to wait before you can enter
the second “t”.. A much faster solution is to press the # button twice and
then the letter “t”.
*#06# Serial Number/IMEI indicates

attitudes (see * to # 7780 #) and implements a RESET.

NOTE! Battery should be full up to at least 75%, doing not accomplish during the
procedure under any circumstances! The procedure takes some minutes (approx. 3-4)

Proceeding: Equipment switch off, keep “green key” (take off) at the same time pressed,
“*” and to “3″ key and switch the equipment on (the keys thereby keep further pressed)…
to “Formatting” on the display appears…
Tip 1:
Do u know how to use the edit button (abc or pencil button)?
Here is how… in the inbox for example; u wanna delete multiple SMS, simply hold the
edit button, scroll down, and then, press c to delete the marked SMS. The edit button can
also b used to copy and past text in SMS, simply hold it and scroll across, choose copy.

Tip 2:
Shit happens, on a Smartphone, its inevitable u do something wrong, and this calls for a
format of phone. To format the phone, press *#7370#, then enter the lock code, which is
the sec code of the phone.
NOTE:
Battery must b full, else if format is disrupted by low battery, consequences will b
disastrous

I heard the code *#7780# works too, pretty much the same I think.
For 6600 users, to format the phone, there’s an alternative way. Press and hold , , and the
buttons, then power on phone, keep holding on the 3 buttons, till u come to a format
screen. This method ONLY works on 6600, and need not enter the sec code. BUT sec
code wun be reset to default 12345.
There are two kinds of formatting: hard formatting and soft formatting

———— ——— ——— ——— ——— ——— —- ———— ——— ——— ———
——— ——— ——— ——— —- ——–

SOFT formatting:
This does not really format your phone (c-drive). It restores INI files from ROM but
preserves user data (photos, 3rd party apps etc). This is just a normal reset!!

HOW? There are two ways to do a normal reset:

1) *#7780# (this seems to work only on S60 v6.1 and 7.0)

2) Go to Settings, General and scroll down to factory settings (works on all S60 phones)
———— ——— ——— ——— ——— ——— ——-
———— ——— ——— ——— ——— ——— ——— ——— —- ———— -

HARD formatting:
This reformats completely the C-drive. All applications and files stored on this drive will
be lost and clean but default files will be rewritten. This is a deep reset.

HOW? Again there are two ways:

1) *#7370#

2) When unable to startup your phone: press and hold the green (talk) key on the left +
number 3 on the keypad + the * key and then turn the phone on. This trick works on
every S60 v7.0 and it works fine on my 6630 too but without formatting screen…

Tip 3:
Save on battery and system memory being used by regularly checking the task manager
which can be accessed by holding down the menu button!!

Tip 4:
Type *#06# to display your IMEI serial number, very valuable for the unlocking your
phone to other SIM cards…

Tip 5:
Save memory when installing apps, by installing over Bluetooth. This can be done using
the Nokia phone suite and a Bluetooth serial connection. Only works with .SIS files, so
java still has to be sent to the phone, but will save space when using .SIS files.

Tip 6:
Operator logos
Use a file manager like FExplorer or SeleQ to add the folders: “c:/system/Apps/
phone/oplogo” . Add a .bmp picture to folder “oplogo” and restart your phone! The .bmp
picture size needs to be: 97 x 25 pixels

Tip 7:
Blue Jacking
First you need to know what Bluetooth is. There are lots of types of modern devices that
incorporate Bluetooth as one of their many features. PDAs, mobile phones and laptops
are a few of these modern devices. Bluetooth means that Bluetooth enabled devices can
send things like phonebook/address book contacts, pictures & notes to other Bluetooth
enabled devices wirelessly over a range of about 10 meters. So, we’ve got past the boring
part. Now, using a phone with Bluetooth, you can create a phonebook contact and write a
message, e.g. ‘Hello, you’ve been blue jacked’, in the ‘Name’ field. Then you can search
for other phones with Bluetooth and send that phonebook contact to them. On their
phone, a message will popup saying “‘Hello, you’ve been blue jacked’ has just been
received by Bluetooth” or something along those lines. For most ‘victims’ they will have
no idea as to how the message appeared on their phone.

Tip 8:
While you are viewing a picture in your phone’s gallery, press one of these shortcut keys
(definitely works on 6600, not sure about other symbian’s)
1 - turn image anticlockwise
3 - turn image clockwise
* - toggle on/off of full screen
5 - zoom in
0 - zoom out

Tip 10:
Operator logos:
Use a file manager like FExplorer or SeleQ to add the folders: “c:/system/Apps/
phone/oplogo” . Add a .bmp picture to folder “oplogo” and restart your phone! The .bmp
picture size needs to be: 97 x 25 pixels

Tip 11:
Check if the recipients phone is on
Delivery reports
or
Type *0# your message in the message composer window space then write your message,
the recipient will not see the star zero hash bit - just the message When they read it will
relay a message back to your phone showing the time they received it. (Haven’t yet tried
it myself though)

A soft and hard reset

A Soft-reset - the process of resetting all the settings of the phone to the factory default!
No applications are deleted! A Hard-reset is like formatting a drive! It does format the
memory. Everything that has been installed after the first use of the phone is deleted! It
will recover the memory of the phone to the state you purchased it! It is done by inputting
the following code: *#7370# NOTE: The battery must be full or the charger has to be
connected to the phone so that it does not run out of power and make the phone unusable

Start up in Safe Mode so no ‘auto start’ apps will be running:

To make sure that no memory-resident programs start when you reboot your phone,
hold down the pencil key when you turn on the phone and hold it on until you have to
enter your PIN code. (When you have trouble booting up the phone with the MMC in it
because it got corrupted for some reason, this trick will almost always let you boot up the
phone so you can remove the latest installed app which might have caused the problem or
if your phone is “un-repairable” you can still back up your important data before you do a
format.)

(When you have trouble booting up the phone with the MMC in it
because it got corrupted for some reason, this trick will almost always let you boot up the
phone so you can remove the latest installed app which might have caused the problem or
if your phone is “un-repairable” you can still back up your important data before you do a
format.)
