Grade/ Course: BSBS-GM-II Case #1

Indiana Sales: Skyline Pigeon

I. Main Problem:
Avoidance of Responsibility

II. Alternative Courses:

A: The manager should not force Mr. Cortes for the position as a Sales
Supervisor.

Advantages:
1. He can look/hire another person who is willing and better for that position.
2. The performance and the effectiveness of the company will run smoothly.
3. The given task will be executed properly.

Disadvantages:
1. Consumes time in training
2. Another adjustment of the new hired employee
3. It will take time to relocate the previous manager to another branch.

B: Mr. Cortes will accept the position as sales supervisor.

Advantages:
1. He will be promoted to a higher position.
2. He will be receiving big salary than his previous position.
3. He will be able to help their company.

Disadvantages:
1. He will become very busy as sales supervisor.
2. He can encounter more complaints from his team.
3. He will come home late.

C: The manager should not encounter and motivate Mr. Cortes to that
position.

Advantages:
1. It will not be time consuming in training Mr. Cortes.
2. It will be easier for the manager to relocate the previous sales supervisor
to another branch.
3. Mr. Cortes can contribute benefits to their company.

Disadvantages:
1. He will be handling bigger problem than his previous position.
2. There will be a tendency that his performance can cause failure to the
company.
3. Due to much pressure Mr. Cortes will resign.

III. Conclusion & Recommendations:

We conclude and strongly believe that the best solution is not to force Mr.
Cortes to the position being offered for the reason that he does not have the
goodwill to take the responsibility. We recommend that it would be better to
hire another person who is willing to take risk of that position.
