Content standard : 1.3 Understand and respond to oral texts in a variety of
contexts.
Learning standard : 1.3.1 (a) Listen to and demonstrate understanding of oral
texts by asking and answering questions.
Learning objective (s) : By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:
1. state at least 4 books with correct genres.

2. listen to at least one blurbs and choose the genre of the

book according to the blurbs.

Teaching aids : Textbook, A4 paper.

Discussion
Teacher asks whether they love to read books or not.
In pairs, pupils have to discuss about 6 books and their
Activities : genres. then, teacher discusses with them and explains the
meaning of ‘genres’.
Then, 1 pupils read the blurb while others listen to the
blurb and individually, they have to decide about the genre
of the book.
In group, pupils discuss about their favourite genres and
their favourite book.
Teacher select random pupils and they have to tell about
some genres of books that they have learnt throughout the
lesson.
