12:40-1:40 PM Lirio
2:55-3:55 PM Zinnia
3:55-4:55 PM Sunflower

I. Learning Outcomes:
At the end of the lesson, the learners are expected to:
 define the greenhouse gases;
 enumerate and describe the different types of greenhouse gases; and
 emphasize awareness about the effects of greenhouse gases in our
life.
Learning Competencies:
Explain how human activities affect the atmosphere; S7ES-IVe-6
II. Subject Matter
a. Grade: Grade 7
b. Topic: Greenhouse Effect
c. Materials:
 Manila paper
 Construction paper
 Worksheets
d. Reference
Book: Science Learner’s Material, pp. 309-313
III. Preliminaries
Classroom Management
1. Observe Cleanliness
2. Prayer
3. Greetings
4. Checking of the attendance
IV. Procedure
A. Abstraction
Activity No. 1: Review
Instruction: The teacher will ask questions which the students will answer.
Process Questions:
1. What are the four layers of the atmosphere?
2. What are the events happening in each layer?
3. What is will happen if one of the layers of the atmosphere is absent?

Activity No. 2: Word Puzzle

Instruction: The students will be answering the given word puzzle. And
after that, the teacher will call random students to answer the process
questions. There are 7 words that the students need to look for. The
students will be given 8 minutes to look for the answers.

Process Questions:

1. What do these words all about?

2. What is greenhouse gases?
3. What is the importance of these greenhouse gases to our lives?
B. Analysis
Activity No. 3: Group reporting
Instruction: The students will be divided into 5 groups.
1. The teacher will give 5 different topic for each group.
2. The students will be given 10 minutes for their discussion and writing
the important words about their topic and 5 minutes for their class
reporting.
3. Each group will choose 2 students to discuss in front.
 Group 1 – water vapor
 Group 2 – Carbon dioxide
 Group 3 – methane
 Group 4 – nitrous oxide
 Group 5 – ozone

Process Questions:

1. What are the main greenhouse gases? How do these gases affect our
atmosphere?
2. What is the importance of these greenhouse gases to our lives?
3. What is the cause of having a high temperature that we experience
nowadays?
4. How can we avoid these phenomena?
C. Application

Situational Questions:

Greenhouse gases are important gases and abundant to our atmosphere.

But sometimes because of the improper activities that the mankind is doing
these greenhouse gases will be the reason of climate change.
1. What impact will rising greenhouse gases have on Earth?
2. How do greenhouse gases affect Earth?

Generalization:

1. What is greenhouse effect?

2. What do the greenhouse gases contribute to our life?

Valuing:

1. What do you think will happen to our planet if we continue to release

carbon dioxide and other atmospheric gases?
2. Can we able to survive? Why or why not?

Learning across other learning area:

1. In TLE, what method we will be using to lessen the release of atmospheric

gases that may lead to global warming?
2. In Values, we all know that greenhouse gases are important gases that
release by the atmosphere. As an individual, how can we avoid the changing
of climate and protect our planet?
D. Assessment
Evaluation:
Instruction: Listen carefully and write your answer in a ¼ sheet of paper.
1. Define greenhouse gases and its effect to the atmosphere.
2. What are the five primary greenhouse gases?
3. Give at least 2 examples of bad effects of greenhouse gases.

Assignment:

1. Study in advance about global warming.

2. What are the possible reasons of global warming?
