INTRODUCTION

ISIS has been created with this in mind. The strength of its architecture has allowed us
to integrate first conventional graph based simulation and now – with PROTEUS VSM –
interactive circuit simulation into the design environment. For the first time ever it is possible
to draw a complete circuit for a micro-controller based system and then test it interactively,
all from within the same piece of software. Meanwhile, ISIS retains a host of features aimed
at the PCB designer, so that the same design can be exported for production with ARES or
other PCB layout software. For the educational user and engineering author, ISIS also excels
at producing attractive schematics. It provides total control of drawing appearance in turns of
line widths, fill styles, colours and fonts. In addition, a system of templates allows us to
define a ‘house style’ and to copy the appearance of one drawing to another.

ISIS is also same as OrCAD Spice software as to capture provides standard libraries
that can be used to design schematics and also can create our own library. In Capture, can
drag and drop schematic folders and pages in the project manager in the session window.
Furthermore, can place parts and pins in Capture schematic editor, and then connect the parts
with buses, wires, off-page connectors, and more. Use a multitude of Capture tools to edit the
design, including the part editor, the Edit menu, and the pop-up menu. Create our own parts
and part packages, or use the standard libraries provided with Capture. The property editor of
Capture shows properties of all or selected parts in our schematic design; one page at a time.
We can use the property editor to add, change, or delete user properties and property values
in our own custom filter for any design.

In the experiment, we used ISIS Professional Proteus software to replace OrCAD Spice
Software that for understand the basic function of OrCAD Spice with to design and simulate
electrical circuit.

DISCUSSION

When doing the lab, some problem had occurred after construct the circuit. The problem
that we face was the ammeter does not have reading value after we start the circuit. This
because, wire connection in the circuit is not completely connected with the resistor and
ammeter. We re-arrange the ammeter and resistor with organized circuit arrangement. After
that, ammeter reading had value compare before we had re-arrange the circuit.

Q1. Show the circuit in ISIS with its simulated values, and compare with your lab 6 results.

The circuit for Ammeter reading is Figure 11, for Voltmeter reading is Figure 12 and the result
simulated values is Table 1. The comparison Lab 8 and Lab 6 has a bit different of the results
reading values. Such as resistor (R1) Lab 6 has 0.23 V and 0.12 A, while for Lab 8 resistor
(R1) has 0.13 V and 0.02 A. As we can see, the voltage and current reading is 0.10 V and 0.10
A. This is because, for experiment Lab 6 the resistor (R1) has not accurate reading of resistance
that is lower value of resistance than the theoretical value of resistor (R1). Because of the
tolerance of the resistor (R1).

CONCLUSION

In our last experiment, we had been able to learn the basic function of ISIS Professional
Proteus Software to construct the series/parallel circuit in the software for replacing OrCAD
Spice Software. Furthermore, we had able to design the complete circuit with the electrical
components such as resistor, Vsource, voltmeter, ammeter, and ground. From this experiment,
we can simulate electrical circuit to define the reading of voltage and current for the circuit
using ISIS software. Besides that, to improve the understanding of every experiment ISIS
software or other related electrical software. We can install first, before doing the lab
experiment to be more understanding the software instruction before we attempt the lab
experiment. From that, it will make us easier to construct the circuit using the software during
the lab.
