Brother DR2300 Drum Unit Reset Instructions

Reset procedure for the Brother DR-2300 drum unit

(photoconductor). This procedure will reset the drum counter back
to zero and allow you to keep using your drum unit long after the
"Change Drum / Replace Drum" message appears. It will not fix
any quality issues it will simply allow you to keep printing beyond
the set life of the drum unit.

HL L2300:
 Open the front cover of the printer
 Press and hold down Go button for about 4 seconds until all
the LEDs light up.
 Once all 4 LEDs are lit, release the Go button
 Close the front cover.
 Your drum is now reset and the LED error light should be off

HL-L2360DN / HL-L2340DW
 Make sure that the machine is turned on
 Open the front cover
 Press and hold OK for 2 seconds to display drum unit
 Press the Up arrow key to display Reset and reset the drum
counter.
 Close the front cover
HL-L2365DW
 Make sure that the machine is turned on
 Open the front cover
 Press and hold OK for about two seconds to display Drum
Unit, and then press OK
 Press the Up arrow key to display Reset and reset the drum
counter
 Close the front cover

DCP-L2560DW / MFC-L2720DW / MFC-L2740DW

 Press Cancel (X) button to interrupt the error
 Press Settings button (looks like screwdriver and spanner) >
All Settings > Machine Info. > Parts Life
 Press and hold # until the LCD message changes
 Press Drum
 Press Yes
 Press Home (Home)

DCP-L2500D / DCP-L2520DW /DCP-L2540DN / MFC-

L2700DW
 Make sure that the machine is turned on
 Open the front cover
 Press and hold OK for 2 seconds
 Press the Up arrow key or 1 to reset the drum counter
 Close the front cover
HL-L5000D/HL-L5100DN/HL-L5200DW/HL-L5200DWT/HL-L6200DW/HL-
L6200DWT
1. Make sure the machine is turned on.
2. Open the front cover.
3. Press and hold OK for about two seconds to display the [Drum Unit] option, and then press OK.
4. Press for [Reset] to reset the drum counter.
5. Close the front cover of the machine.
HL-L6300DW
1. Make sure the machine is turned on.

2. Press [Settings]>[Machine Information]>[Parts Life].

3. Press and hold [Drum Life].
4. Press [Yes].

2. Make sure the machine is turned on.

3. Press (Settings).
If your machine displays the All Settings menu on the Home screen,
skip the Settings menu.
4. Press All Settings. (This step might be skipped in some models.)
5. Choose Machine Info. or Machine Information => Parts Life.
6. Press and hold Drum or Drum Life until the machine's display
message changes.
7. Press Yes.
8. Press (Home).
When you replace the drum unit with a new one, you need to reset the drum counter by completing the following
steps:

1. Press (Cancel) to interrupt the error.

2. Press (Settings) > All Settings > Machine Info. > Parts Life.
3. Press and hold # until the LCD message changes.

Press and hold # even if # light is off.

4. Press Drum.
5. Press Yes.

6. Press (Home).
