 Train and mentor undergraduate students to learn basic fundamentals of conducting psychological research,
including: literature reviews, data collection, statistical analysis of data, creating research posters, and
writing manuscripts for publication.
 Students have presented a research poster of their experimental findings to the 2016 and 2017 Southwestern
Psychological Association (SWPA) Conference as well as to Blinn College’s inaugural research conference.
 Students have won multiple award through Psi Beta due to their involvement in Blinn’s Research Group,
including a First Place Silver award for an Outstanding Research Paper and a $2,000 Anastasi Research
Paper Travel Scholarship to present at the 2016 American Psychological Association Conference.
 Students have submitted a manuscript to The Journal of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences and are
currently planning to submit another manuscript to the same journal in the summer of 2017.

 Wrote IRB proposals for faculty research, including: literature review, protocol, methods, procedures,
scripts, and appendices.
 Programmed experiments into computer software (i.e., Media Lab, SuperLab, Direct RT) to use for empirical
research purposes.
 Analyzed data from numerous experiments using SPSS statistical software.
 Trained Research Assistants to encode data into spreadsheets, program experiments onto Media Lab
software, and to learn and follow the proper protocol for each research study.
 Interviewed potential Research Assistants.
 Designed laboratory website to recruit prospective undergraduate and graduate students.

 Worked with Professor on an independent senior thesis by conducting experiments on factors of context-
dependent memory.
 Created digital video recordings of video and text stimuli using Windows Movie Maker.
 Used SPSS software to code and analyze data.
 Presented results of independent research to the annual Association for Research in Memory, Attention,
Decision making, Intelligence, Language, Learning, and Organization (ARMADILLO) regional conference.

implement effective teaching practices.
