Exhaust Probe Installation

Pre-existing threaded hole:
Pre-existing 1/8” NPT threaded hole: Screw the threaded fitting from the probe, into the threaded fitting on the manifold.
Once the fitting is tight, place the probe inside and tighten. When screwing in the sensor in or out, the cable must also be
turned (as this will help prevent damage to the inner cables). Once the above is completed, make sure the probe wires are
positioned away from the manifold, and any other hot engine parts. Please note: if the thread on your vehicle is different from
the supplied probe, an adapter will be required (not supplied).

Weld-in fitting:
This method is used when no pre-existing hole is present on the vehicle. This method uses a SAAS
bung (part number SGA1001), which requires you to drill a 16mm (5/8”) diameter hole into the
exhaust manifold. Once you’ve drilled the hole, you’ll then need to weld the fitting into place.
Please note: we highly recommend you do some research to find the best location, prior to drilling
the hole in your exhaust manifold. Once the fitting has been welded in, screw the threaded fitting
from the probe, into the bung. Please the probe inside the fitting (that was just screwed into the
bung), and tighten. When screwing in the sensor in or out, the cable must also be turned (as this
will help prevent damage to the inner cables). Once the above is completed, make sure the probe
wires are positioned away from the manifold, and any other hot engine parts.
