ARCHITECTURE & CLIMATE CHANGE

“Future predictions”
Climate change is the global variation of Earth's climate, due to
natural causes and mostly due to man's action.
Climate change is causing sea levels and temperatures to rise,
expanding hurricane strength, range, and duration.
In architecture, the construction is one of the economic activities with
a big environmental impact. The buildings consume half of the natural
resources of the environment, and they increase pollution during the
construction.
The construction sector is responsible for a large proportion of total
CO2 emissions. Some reports speak of 36% others up to 50%, so that
architects are responsible for taking measures to develop an
architecture that minimizes pollution in general and especially CO² or
equivalent gases that causes climate change.
At present, technology exists to reduce this environmental problem,
and we believe that architecture will use properly technology to build
sustainable housing.
Nowadays it is important that new constructions must use renewable
energies like biomass, photovoltaic solar energy, wind power etc., this
kind of energy will create a new vision of construction and
architecture that includes the environmental care, and the need of a
bio-climatic design.
In a few years, people will ask to architects to design sustainable and
efficient energetically buildings, because they will understand how
important it is for a healthy living.
Architects will use ecological materials of construction, avoiding toxic
materials that generates gases, like plastic, synthetic fibers, etc.
By 2020, Architects will be call to solve specific ecological problems
and help with specific decisions about environmental solutions. They
will operate more like internal consultants in government
constructions, bringing a broad set of tools to bear on the problem of
the day. We believe that in the future, architects will use ecological
technology in our country.
In ten years, architect role will change, because of the new eco-
technology, and architects will be able to select the models they want
to use in order to explain people about the new technology that cares
the environment, and the natural resource.
