Foster and partners wanted to make a large, open, and free space building. To
support his idea, Foster made HSBC Tower Hong Kong with building’s technology
(Space-truss). He made a hanging structure to support the idea of ’open’ building
because the 1st floor used to be a sidewalk (public space) and he’s using mirrors to
maximixe the use of natural light.
