ORAL DEFINES

A. Preliminary
Silent prayer, good morning to each of you that present to day, to wetness
the oral defines of the researcher.
I am MASHURA CARIS SARIP, taking up of bachelor of elementary education.
Today I will present to you my study entitled “COMMON CAUSES OF
POOR STUDY HABITS among grade six pupils, I choose this title because I want
to know more about the causes of poor study habits. This title is much related to
the academic performance of the pupils. Poor study habits it can cause poor
academic performance of learners, and I’m willing to help the pupils to avoid and
encourage them to have a good study habits.
The organization of my study:
The chapter I is the problem,
The chapter II review of related literature and studies.
The chapter III, the methodology, and
The chapter IV, the presentation, analysis and interpretation of data,
The chapter V, the summary, conclusion and recommendation,
And it was also included bibliography, appendixes and curriculum vitae of the
researcher.
B. CONTENT:
The chapter 1, Is about the background of the study Statement of the Problem,
Hypothesis, Significance of the study, Scope and Limitation and the Definition of
term.

The background of the study, Study habits are termed as the methods of
study of pupil. Study habits are pupil’s ways of studying whether systematic,
efficient study habits producer positive academic performance while inefficient
study habits leads to academic failure. The parents and the education agencies play
a vital role in moulding the study habits of the pupils at all levels of education.
What are the common causes of poor study habits?
The statement of the study, This research is expected to determine the
common causes of poor study habits of grade six pupils of Parang Central
Elementary School, Parang Maguindanao. This is limited to the poor study habits
of learners.
The total population of grade six pupils comprises of 294 pupils, there were
7 sections in grade six and 50 pupils below in each section. The respondents of
the study are forty five (45) grade six pupils of Parang Central Elementary School,
Parang Maguindanao and who are officially enrolled for School Year 2018-2019.
Chapter II is about the review of literature and studies, this is important to my
study because it can support and give ideas for my study.
Chapter III is contains the research design, locale of study, research
instrument, data gathering procedures and the statistical tools use in the data.
The researcher makes 20 questionnaires pass to the thesis adviser and
corrected, checked for improvement and suggestion.
The researcher writes a letter to the principal of Parang Central Elementary
school, noted by the thesis adviser.
The letter received and approved by the principal of PCES sir Esmail Adam.
The researcher conduct a survey, explained, and collected them afterward
personally.
The researcher tallied the questionnaire after collected them.
After the data was gathered, it was tallied and tabulate to facilitate the data analysis
and the corresponding interpretation. In order to have better and clear
interpretation of data, the researcher applied the formula P=F/N x 100%
where P= percentage,
F=frequency or the total number of the respondents and
N= number of respondent.

The researcher makes two tables for the respondents.


The researcher analyzes and interpreted, the result of each tables.
Those 50% and above are considered significant.
Chapter V in this chapter presents the Re-statement of the problem and Method,
Summary of findings of the study, Conclusion and Recommendation.
Re-statement of the problem and Method
This study aims to find out the common causes of poor study habits of grade six
pupils at Parang central elementary school, Parang, Maguindanao, school years
2018-2019.
Specifically it seeks, to answer the question.
What are the common causes of poor study habits of grade six pupils?
Findings of the data
The findings of the study are:
1. The grade six respondents are always study diligently.
2. They review the daily lesson.
3. They write notes properly.
4. They always finish homework on time.
5. Sometimes the grade six pupils can apply what they learned
6. They sometimes ask question in class.
7. Sometimes they do homework in the classroom.
8. They never study while playing with their sibling.
Conclusion
Based on the findings of the study, conclusion are hereby drown the researcher of
the common causes of poor study habit among grade six, most of the respondents
are affected to their academic performance because of having poor study habits.
Recommendation
The teacher should be making an activity that the learners can participate, and also
the teacher should ask the learners if there’s anyone doesn’t understand the
topic/lessons.
Make sure that you give proper guidance to your learners and always tell them that
the homework or assignment are not making in the class room, and always remind
them to study their lessons in their home.
