3. Technology productivity tools.

a. students use technology tools to enhance learning, increase productivity, and promote
creativity.

  

Students will use Google Earth to explore the globe. Teacher(s) will encourage students to
explore the technology on their own but also to look for key things such as regions, borders,
landscapes, and areas modified in some capacity by human interaction. Students will be asked to
locate certain areas on the map, for example the state of Michigan and where the President of the
United States lives (Washington, D.C.). This lesson will teach students about different
geographic regions and landscapes, borders and the purpose they serve, and where things are
located in the world around them. It will also serve to teach students about the different impact of
human-environment interaction across the globe. During this lesson, students will also be
learning about the use of a new technology and how they can apply it to their lives and their
educational experience.

3.? Students will be instructed to find examples of borders using Google Earth by moving
about the globe with their mouse.
4.? Students will be instructed to find Michigan on a map first by scrolling to the United
States and zooming in and then by typing the word into the ³fly to«´ box.
5.? Students will be instructed to find various famous places on the map whichever way they
choose. Students will learn additional information from location descriptions.
