Burn-down safety tubes must be installed in all oxygen lines (O2) in which the flow rate exceeds 8 m/s.

All lines up to DN 80 must be provided with a burn-down safety tube every 100 m,
all lines of DN 100 and above, every 50 m.

Depending upon the locations of valves and fittings, and measuring instruments, distribution stations are provided with several
burn-down safety tubes for protecting these elements.
Pipe lines passing over rails and roads must be equipped with burn-down safety tubes in front of and after each overpass.
