√ Keep your gate closed and locked.
√ Don’t allow daily deliveries of mail or newspapers while you are
away. Arrange with the post office to hold your mail or ask a friend to
take them regularly.
√ Never leave keys under ‘secret’ hiding places – burglars know how to
look for them.
√ Consider installing a burglar alarm system.
√ Turn down your home telephone volume when you go out.
√ Never store your tools and ladder outside the house.
√ Form a Neighbourhood Watch Group and always keep in touch with
the nearest police station.
