INTRODUCTION

This document is a detailed step by step process of the various phases into the development
of a mobile commerce portal. The final output is to be a Content Management System
(CMS) based design.

A Content Management System (CMS) enables editing of web content easily and
efficiently just as you would in a word processor thus the outcome is not only a user
friendly website, but a website that includes interactivity.

The Content Management System (CMS) automatically builds menus, navigation, site
maps, even RSS feeds, this is what all top of the range website gear to achieve.

THE PROPOSED WEBSITE ARCHITECTURE

The proposed website architecture is to be based on the ideal concept whereby user
interaction with this website is to be achievable in two avenues. Mobile phone browsers
and computer based internet access points.

The websites’ cash cow revolves around the sale of music, wallpapers, photos. This is to be
achieved by a pay and download scenario. The website accessible via mobile browser or
computer browser will hold the music downloads, authorize and manage access to
downloads. The website is also to have a user registration mechanism and this will be
coped with user levels whereby we have ordinary users, registered users, Administrative
users and the super administrator. The user level hierarchy will be fully customizable
whereby you can add and delete with minimal effort, you can modify and rename the
various access levels.

A couple of technologies will be combined to enable the achievement of the final product.
Payment option will be numerous and based on this the website is to be built with this in
mind. The website administrative back end will enable management of the various site
materials and modules. An administrative user manual will be provided for administrative
purposes.

The website is to be designed with a modular approach as this will enable future
development and expansion of the website without having to redo the whole website again.
The website will include several interactive tools to enable expandability namely;
• A Product Catalogue, Product Archive and Search Manager
• News/Article Management System
• Content Management System
• Dynamic Photo Gallery
• Activity Directory Management System

All this have to be developed with a Template Manager approach so as to enable

integration of the various proposed website layouts.
