MATERIALS

 fingering/sport yarn in white and 5 more colors (colors A,B,C,D,E) for the rainbow
(I chose purple, blue, yellow, baby pink and hot pink)
 2.5 mm hook
 yarn needle
 some black embroidery floss or yarn

st = stitch
sl st = slip stitch
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
dc = double crochet
tr = treble crochet
inc = increase (2 sc in one st)
BLO = back loops only
R = Row
FO = fasten off

 INSTRUCTIONS
Rainbow
R1: with color A ch 60 (this will be the length of your bookmark so feel free to ch as long as
you like)
starting from the 2nd ch from hook hdc in each chain (59), FO color A
R2: attach color B on the back loop of the 1st hdc of previous Row
in BLO hdc in each st (59), FO color B
R3: attach color C on the back loop of the 1st hdc of previous Row
in BLO hdc in each st (59), FO color C
R4: attach color D on the back loop of the 1st hdc of previous Row
in BLO hdc in each st (59), FO color D
R5: attach color E on the back loop of the 1st hdc of previous Row
in BLO hdc in each st (59), FO color E
Weave in yarn ends.

Cloud
For the cloud we will make 2 pieces.

First piece
Round1: with white yarn, ch 4
sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, sc 4 in last ch, turn your work and continue on the other side of
the ch, sc in next, sc 3 in last (10)
Round2: inc in first st, sc in next, inc in next 4 st, sc in next, inc in next 3 st (18)
Round3: sc in next 4 st, [inc in next, sc in next] 3 times, sc in next 3, [inc in next, sc in next] 2 times,
inc in last st and sl st in the first st of the Round (24)
Round4: skip 1 st, dc 4 in next, skip 1, sl st in next, skip 1, [dc, tr2, dc] all in next st, skip 1, sl st in next,
hdc, dc, dc 2 in next, dc, hdc, sl st, skip 2 st, dc 5 in next st, skip 2, sl st,
sl st, dc, tr 3 in next st, dc, sl in next and FO leaving a long tail for sewing.

Second piece
Repeat Rounds 1-3 of first piece and continue with next Round
Round4: skip 1st st, [dc, tr2, dc] all in next st, skip 1, sl st in next, skip 1, dc 4 in next, skip 1, sl st in
next, dc, tr 3 in next st, dc, sl st in next 2 st, skip 2 st, dc 5 in next, skip next 2, sl st, hdc, dc, dc 2 in
next, dc, hdc, sl st and FO leaving a long tail for sewing.

With some embroidery floss you can turn your second piece of cloud into a happy smiling cloud!!!

ASSEMBLy
1. Holding your first piece of the cloud with the “wrong” side facing you, place the rainbow
onto the cloud [as shown in the picture] and use your white yarn tail to sew them together.

 2. Take the second piece and put it on top of the first piece. Use the yarn tail and sew it onto the
other piece.

And you’re done!!! Enjoy your rainbow bookmark!
