BIOGRAFIA DE RONALDO DE ASIS (RONALDINHO)

(Nombre futbolístico de Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, Brasil, 1980).

Futbolista brasileño. Ronaldinho Gaucho no es solo un jugador de
fútbol, es el ídolo de millones de aficionados que ven en él la
encarnación del “jogo bonito” brasileño, del fútbol hecho con arte que
ilusiona a grandes y pequeños.
La historia de esta estrella del balompié empieza el día 21 de marzo
del año 1980, cuando nace en la localidad brasileña de Porto Alegre
el pequeño Ronaldo de Assis Moreira en el seno de una familia de
origen humilde en la que se vive con entusiasmo la afición por este
deporte. Y es que fue su padre Joao quien le inculcó el amor por el
fútbol, igual que a su hermano mayor Roberto.

Precisamente era éste quien parecía predestinado a ser un número
uno con el balón, pero cuando Ronaldo era aún solo un niño
demostró sus habilidades y Roberto se retiró de la práctica
profesional para convertirse en el manager de una futura figura
internacional: Ronaldinho.
Ronaldinho no olvida ni sus sencillos orígenes ni la temprana muerte
de su padre cuando él tenía ocho años. Fue un desgraciado
accidente el que llevó a Joao a morir en la piscina de la casa que el
club Gremio Porto Alegre había regalado a la familia por el contrato
de su hermano Roberto. Pese a todas estas situaciones poco
agradables que vive desde pequeño, Ronaldinho pisa fuerte en los
campos de fútbol de todo el mundo desde el principio. Los
aficionados le consideran un verdadero artista del balón cuya rapidez
y habilidad le permiten triunfar en su posición natural de media punta.
La carrera profesional de Ronaldinho se inicia en el 1997 cuando
empieza a jugar en el club de su ciudad, el Gremio Porto Alegre.
Además, ese mismo año consigue ser Campeón del Mundo y
máximo goleador con la selección Sub-17 de Brasil. Es el disparo de
salida de una trayectoria llena de éxitos.

Durante cuatro años Ronaldinho juega en el Gremio de Porto Alegre
y evoluciona como futbolista. A parte de que obtiene excelentes
resultados con su equipo triunfa con la selección canarinha en la
Copa América de 1999. En este torneo es también elegido mejor
jugador después de marcar seis goles, uno de ellos contra Venezuela
y aún recordado por sus seguidores gracias a su extraordinaria
belleza y espectacularidad.
En el año 2001, y después de participar incluso en los Juegos
Olímpicos de Sydney, Ronaldinho lleva acumuladas a sus espaldas
temporadas de triunfos en el fútbol de su país y decide dejar Brasil
para dar un salto internacional e integrarse en un equipo europeo.
Diversos clubs optan a ficharlo hasta que se decide por el prestigioso
Paris Saint Germain, un clásico de la liga francesa.
La estancia de Ronaldinho en Francia no es desde buen principio tan
perfecta como cabía esperar dada su fama en Brasil. Algunos
problemas administrativos impiden que debute enseguida en el
equipo y, cuando consigue hacerlo, tiene diversos enfrentamientos
con su entrenador de por aquel entonces, Luís Fernández.
Pese a que los conceptos de ambos acerca de lo que debe ser el
fútbol no coinciden en muchos aspectos, se mantiene en el equipo
francés hasta el año 2003 y logra obtener diferentes títulos
internacionales. Así, en el 2002 es campeón del Mundo con la
selección absoluta de Brasil y gana la Copa Intertoto con el París
Saint Germain.
En el verano del 2003 la directiva del Fútbol Club Barcelona
encabezada por su presidente Joan Laporta y Sandro Rossell
(vicepresidente azulgrana y uno de sus mejores amigos) consigue
fichar a Ronaldinho por 25 millones de euros. Se convierte en el
número 10 del equipo y logra desplegar su mejor fútbol para devolver
la ilusión perdida a la afición del Barça, que espera ganar grandes
títulos nacionales e internacionales gracias a sus espectaculares
filigranas futbolísticas.
