THRUST REVERSER INNER V-GROOVE - INTERNAL

1. General

A. This task gives the procedure to do a general visual inspection of the thrust-reverser inner v-groove,
LH/RH internal side, of the forward edge of the thrust-reverser inner core cowl.

B. This inspection is applicable to zones 414, 415, 424 and 425.

C. This inspection is applicable to the SSI 78-31-004.

7. Job Set-Up

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE AIRCRAFT IS IN A SAFE CONDITION BEFORE YOU DO THE
MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES. THIS IS TO PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR
DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.

A. Do the procedure to make the aircraft safe for maintenance (AMM TASK 20-00-00-910-801-A/200).

B. Put the workstand (engine and pylon) in position to get access to the area where you will do the
inspection.

C. Open these access doors (AMM TASK 06-43-00-800-801-A/100 and AMM TASK 78-30-01-910-801-A/
200):

• 414AR

• 415AL

• 424AR

• 425AL

D. Get access to the middle avionics compartment as follows:

(1) Open the access door 199AL.

(2) Open and remove the access door 147AL (AMM TASK 52-46-00-000-801-A/400).

E. On the MCDU (AMM SDS 34-61-00/1), use the sequence in parentheses to open these SSPCs:

• E1 START VLV-SPDA2 (CBMENU/CB BY SYS/ENGINE)

• E2 START VLV-SPDA2 (CBMENU/CB BY SYS/ENGINE)

F. Open these CBs and put a circuit breaker ring and tag (inoperative - do not operate) on each one of
them:

• E1 REVERSER-LICC (DC BUS 1)

• E2 REVERSER-RICC (DC BUS 2)

G. Deactivate the ICU (AMM TASK 78-33-01-040-801-A/200).

H. Before you do the inspection, clean the area that will inspect with a lint-free wiper cloth soaked in MEK

8. Procedure (Figure 1)

A. Use a flashlight or mirror, if necessary, to do the general visual inspection of thrust-reverser inner v-
groove, LH/RH internal side, of the forward edge of the thrust reverser inner core cowl. Make sure that:

• There are no loose or missing rivets and bolts;

• There are no nicks, scratches, gouges, dents, corrosion and other signs of damage;

• The condition of the protection system or sealant is satisfactory.

9. Indication Evaluation

A. Record the location of damage indications.

10. Acceptance and Rejection Criteria

A. If there are signs of damage, contact Embraer.

11. Job Close-Up

A. Activate the ICU (AMM TASK 78-33-01-440-801-A/200).

B. Remove the circuit breaker ring and tag (inoperative - do not operate) from each of these CBs, and
close them:

• E1 REVERSER-LICC (DC BUS 1)

• E2 REVERSER-RICC (DC BUS 2)

C. On the MCDU (AMM SDS 34-61-00/1), use the sequence in parentheses to close these SSPCs:

• E1 START VLV-SPDA2 (CBMENU/CB BY SYS/ENGINE)

• E2 START VLV-SPDA2 (CBMENU/CB BY SYS/ENGINE)

D. Close the access to the middle avionics compartment as follows:

(1) Install and close the access door 147AL (AMM TASK 52-46-00-400-801-A/400).

(2) Close the access door 199AL.

E. Close these access doors (AMM TASK 06-43-00-800-801-A/100 and AMM TASK 78-30-01-910-802-A/
200):

• 414AR

• 415AL

F. Remove all tools, equipment and unwanted materials from the work area.

G. Remove the workstand (engine and pylon) from the work area.

H. Put the aircraft back to its initial condition (AMM TASK 20-00-00-910-801-A/200).
