PROUDS now have a variety of world
class sunglasses that you can choose
from. They have a wide range of sun-
glasses for men, women and children

Sunglass lens features
Polycarbonate lenses- These lenses
are impact-resistant (scratch free) and
are a good choice for people who regu-
larly participate in sports, work in an
environment in which their eyeglasses
may be easily scratched or broken.
Polycarbonate lenses also provide ul-
traviolet protection.
Trivex lenses- These lenses are
made from a newer plastic with simi-
lar characteristics of polycarbonate
lenses. They are lightweight, thin, and
impact-resistant and may result in bet-
ter vision.
High index plastic lenses- Designed
for people who require strong pre-
scriptions. These eyeglass lenses are
lighter and thinner than the standard
ones. And provides 99.9 per cent UV
protection. UV is high radiation energy
that is invisible but highly dangerous
to an eye. A good sunglass lens must
absorb this UV radiation as much as
possible.
Photochromic lenses- Made from
either glass or plastic, these eyeglasses
change from clear to tint when ex-
posed to sunlight. These are conveni-
ent as they reduce the need to switch
from prescription sunglasses to indoor
prescription glasses.
Polarized sunglasses-The only type
that specifically reduce glare from sur-
faces such as water, snow and roads,
as well as blocking UV rays. Currently
available in grey, brown and green col-
ours, polarised lenses are especially
good for sports like sailing, boating,
fishing and skiing and they transform
the ability to see what’s under water
