With my teaching assignment going into my PSIII placement, I was overwhelmed at the
thought of teaching Senior High Drama. In my past practicum, I was confident in teaching
English Language Arts at the high school level from my strong background in university
English courses. I was able to relate my own learning experiences to how the students would
feel in my class and therefore created meaningful activities to help students understand
material. With drama however, I have only a basic knowledge stemming from Jr. High drama
option classes. I hope by taking this semester as an opportunity to grow and learn more about
the art, I will be able to confidently teach it again in the future.

In completing this goal in regards to my professional practice, I will be able to teach multiple
subjects at the high school level. I will also gain skills in managing a community and school
wide event in directing the final drama production. I will be able to confidently teach senior,
and likely junior high drama in the future. This will also help me learn how to gain knowledge
and be able to turn it into instructional activities for other similar future situations.
In completing this goal, students will benefit as I will capably be able to teach them the skills
they need. Students will gain confidence in me as I gain confidence in my abilities as a drama
instructor. Students will benefit from my growing experience in this field.
Having never completed a long-range assessment plan I hope to gain as much knowledge and
experience about this as possible in this term. While being wary of teaching to the test, I hope
to give students relevant assignments while also ensuring I am properly assessing their work
for proper alignment to the curriculum and course guidelines.

Indicators of Success
What will successful completion of my goal look like for my Professional Practice?
For Student Learning?
Indication of my success with this goal will come mainly from students as I discuss
their learning with them and receive feedback from the results of their assessments as
well.
I will also have indicators of my goal’s success through conversations with those
around me. Being confident with my assessments will also help me deliver
expectations of students’ learning and be clear in my explanations.
Assessment will also be easier and streamlined with the success of my goal. When
students’ assignments line up with assessment strategies it makes the marking process
easier and more accurate simply based upon my previous experience in creating rubrics
for creative visual assignments in the past.
