El sacrificio de los aztecas

El documental habla ampliamente de si en realidad era o no una de las culturas más

sangrientas dentro del México antiguo, los aztecas una de las más grandes culturas y también
de las más importantes, con sus guerras y lo más importante sus reconocidos sacrificios
humanos. Además de conquistar territorios, las guerras tenían la finalidad de conseguir
cautivos destinados a ser sacrificados. La forma más usual era colocarles sobre el altar en el
templo donde cuatro sacerdotes le sujetaban por las extremidades mientras un quinto le
extraía el corazón todavía palpitante con un cuchillo de obsidiana. Tras ser arrancado, el
corazón era ofrecido a los dioses mientras el cuerpo se arrojaba por las escalinatas del
templo.
La gran ciudad de los aztecas construida sobre un lago, grandes edificios hechos de piedra
volcánica, entre los cuales estaba el templo en el cual se llevaban a cabo los sacrificios, se
dice que en un periodo de cuatro días los aztecas asesinaron a 80,400 personas.
El documental busca saber si realmente los aztecas eran una cultura tan sangrienta cono lo
dicen los códices españoles, pero mediante diversas investigaciones en diversos templos se
demuestra que es imposible matar a tanta gente en tan poco tiempo, puesto que realmente
nadie se detendría a contar tantos cadáveres, este documental nos muestra lo alejada que
esta la realidad de lo que hoy conocemos, a pesar de que los aztecas eran realmente una de
las culturas más sangrientas, no podemos saber a ciencia cierta hasta qué grado lo eran.

The sacrifice of the Aztecs
The documentary broadly talks about whether or not it was actually one of the bloodiest
cultures in ancient Mexico, the Aztecs one of the greatest cultures and also the most important,
with their wars and most importantly their recognized human sacrifices. In addition to
conquering territories, the wars were aimed at obtaining captives destined to be sacrificed. The
most usual way was to place them on the altar in the temple where four priests held him by the
extremities while a fifth extracted his heart still throbbing with an obsidian knife. After being torn
out, the heart was offered to the gods while the body was thrown down the steps of the temple.
The great city of the Aztecs built on a lake, large buildings made of volcanic stone, among
which was the temple in which the sacrifices were carried out, it is said that in a period of four
days the Aztecs murdered 80,400 people.
The documentary seeks to know if the Aztecs really were a culture as bloody as the Spanish
codices say, but through various investigations in different temples it is shown that it is
impossible to kill so many people in such a short time, since nobody really stops to count so
many corpses, this documentary shows us how remote the reality of what we know today,
even though the Aztecs were really one of the bloodiest cultures, we can not know for sure to
what degree they were.
