RECOVERY MANUAL

AIRCRAFT STATIONS

## 1. Body Station Diagram

A. The body station diagrams give a reference system that shows the location of the structural
components in relation to different datum planes.

## B. All dimensions are in millimeters.

C. The definitions and abbreviations of the station diagram are given below:

## (a) STA X - Fuselage station.

The fuselage station is a plane perpendicular to the fuselage centerline, where ″X″
shows the distance from the plane to the aircraft nose, where X = 0.

(b) STA Y
The station Y is a vertical plane parallel to the fuselage centerline, where ″Y″ shows
the distance from the plane to the fuselage centerline, where Y = 0.

(c) STA Z
The station Z is a horizontal plane parallel to the fuselage centerline, where ″Z″
shows the distance from the plane to the fuselage centerline, where Z = 0.

## (a) STA ZV - Vertical tail station

The vertical tail station is a horizontal plane parallel to the fuselage centerline, where
ZV = 0.

## (b) STA ZV/ - Rudder station

The rudder station is a plane perpendicular to the projection of the rudder hinge line
on plane Y = 0. It is measured from the intersection of the projection of the rudder
hinge line with the fuselage centerline, where ZV/ = 0.

(c) Rib
The rib is a vertical tail structural element.

## (a) STA YH - Horizontal tail station

The horizontal tail station is a plane parallel to the fuselage X axis which passes
through the intersection of planes Y = 0 and Z = 543.40. The horizontal tail station is
rotated 8 degrees (horizontal tail dihedral) relative to vertical plane Y = 0.

The elevator station is a plane perpendicular to the projection of the elevator hinge
line on plane ZH = 0. It is measured from the intersection of the projection of the
elevator hinge line with the vertical plane Y = 0, where YH = 0.

(c) STA ZH
The STA ZH is a plane perpendicular to YH which passes through the intersection of
planes Y = 0 and Z = 543.40.

(d) Rib
The rib is a horizontal tail structural element.

## (4) Wing and Winglet Station Diagrams

(a) STA YA
The STA YA is a plane perpendicular to the intersection (trace line) of the reference
plane of wing spar II and plane ZA = 0. It is measured from the intersection of trace
line and the vertical plane Y = 0, where YA = 0.

## (b) STA YA - Wing station

The wing station is a plane parallel to the fuselage X axis which passes through the
intersection of planes Y = 0 and Z = -1157.00. The wing station is rotated 5 degrees
(wing dihedral) relative to vertical plane Y = 0.

(c) STA ZA
The STA ZA is a plane which passes through the intersection of planes Y = 0 and Z
= -1157.00, perpendicular to YA.

(d) Rib
The rib is a wing structural element.
