EAL Cold Conditioned Dynamic Drop Test ModolPart#: © WS50 LotBatch#: NA Serial #: NA ‘Sample Receipt Date: 7/28/2010 ‘Sampling Detals/Deviations and Sample Condition: ‘Sample received in good working order, No tests previously performed on ths sample. Conditioning Method (Applicable Standard and Clause): ANSI Z359.13-2008, 3.1.9.2 Cold Dry 1.6 ft FFFF and 12 t FFFF personal energy absorbers shall be conditioned at -31 +/-4°F(-35 +- 2°) fora minimum of 8h. 2. Concluding the conditioning ofthe personal energy absorbers, they shall be dynamically tested and meet their respective requrements set forth in 3.1.9.1.1 and 3.1.9.1.2. Testing Method (Applicable Standard and Clause): ANSI Z359.13-2008, 45., Dynamic Performance Testing of EALS 1. Use the drop test structure, test weight, test instrumentation, and quick release mechanism specified in 4.1 2. Measure and reco the length ofthe energy absorbing lanyard from bearing point to beerng pont when tensioned to 10 pounds (44 N). 3. Attach one end ofthe energy absorbing lanyard tothe oad cell andthe other tothe test weight 4. Ifthe personal energy absorber isa constituent ofa subsystem or system, and does not have an integral connector atts end, simulate 2s closely as possible the intended means of assembling it into its subsystem or system 5. Attach the quick release mechanism tothe test weight and raise the weigh oa level indicated in 4.4.1 and 44.2. 6. The test weight shal be released from a point no more than 12 inches (30.5 cm) horizontally rom the point of connection to the lod cel 7 Release the test weight using the quick release mechanism. 8, As a minimum, record the entre event and collect data to calculate force average and maximum arrest force. 8, Measure and recor the length of the energy absorbing lanyard from bearing pont to bearing point while the weights stil suspended. 10, Calculate the personal energy absorber elongation. 11. Compare the testresuts set forth in the requirements of 3.1.8.1 and 3.1.8.2. ‘Acceptance Criteria (Applicable Standard and Clause): ANS!Z359.13-2009, 3.1.9.4.1 1. 6 fUFFFF energy absorbers shall be allowed fo have an average arest force of 1.125 pounds (5 kN) without exceeding 1,800 pounds (8 KN) maximum arrest force.
