Section 1: Rationale (Approx 100 words)

This section provides you with an opportunity to reflect on, review and summarise your progress
and achievements through the first 7 units of the qualification. You should outline the
knowledge, skills and understanding you have acquired.
What you know now, and what it means to you, compared with what you knew and could do
before you started the course, and how this has influenced your choice of pathway and your
project proposal.

Before I started this course, I would say I had very low skills in creative media. Before this course I did
take a course similar, but there a serious lack of practical work. This meant I knew a lot of the paper
work I needed to fill out, but I was confused how to proceed with those ideas.
After we had done a couple of practical projects, I felt like I got more into the flow of things. For example,
in the animation project I learned how to work in a team and create my ideas and present them.

When I was in unit two I learned a lot about how to edit photos and manipulate them, this came in handy
when I had to create mood boards for other projects.

In unit three I learned how to sick to a deadline and how to keep with time management. I will admit
though I do still need a lot of help with this skill, but I feel like it more in control now.

Unit 4 taught me how to edit which came in use when I had to edit videos of me working on my other
projects.

Unit 5 taught me how to create a game from start to finish and how to code that game which I think is
the most important skill I learned because it will help with my final project and help me get into my next
course.

Section 2: Project Concept (approx 200 words)

This section provides an opportunity for you to clearly explain the concept and aims of your
project. You should make reference to the research and ideas that will support your project’s
development. What you anticipate producing, the levels and types of resources that you will
need, and an indication of the form in which you will complete and present your final realisation
within the allocated timescale.

For my game I want to mix a platform game with a visual novel. For this I am currently
looking at games with similar structures. For example, Doki Doki Literature Club and
Mario games. I want to see how these types of games play and how I can apply it to
my own project.
And as I look at different games I start thinking about new ideas. For example, I have
one idea where I want to player to be sucked into a gaming world with other gaming
character, but only one knows he not from here and that character knows she is in a
game. But I am currently trying to build upon that idea.

I also want to do plenty of sketches before I start so that I have the best idea of what I
want before going into production. This is because I have had trouble before of not
doing enough ideas or sketches before the final product and then that confused me
when I had to create.

Section 3: Evaluation Methods (approx 50 words)

This section provides an opportunity for you to explain how you will reflect on and evaluate your work,
as both an ongoing activity and at the conclusion of the project.
You should describe how you intend to record your decision making and how you will document
changes to your ideas as the project progresses.
The evaluation section should reference your stated aims and be reflective and analytical rather than a
description of actions completed.

When working in collaboration with others, you should comment on how this may impact either positively
or adversely and outline the steps you can take to minimise disruption to your own progress.

I am going to evaluate as I go long by writing up my progress on each piece and

writing it up in my reflection journal. This way I can keep track of my progress
throughout the project. I will also get other people’s options and write them down, so I
can keep track of them.

Project Action Plan and Timetable

This section provides you with an opportunity to outline your planning and organisation over a period of weeks, and the
activities you will need to carry out in order to successful complete your project within the agreed time frame. It is
important that you consider how you will balance ambition, time and realism in the realisation of the project.
This should include what you are going to do, how you will do it and by when. The more time and thought you give to
planning your project, the more successful it is likely to be. Remember to include: time spent sourcing materials,
questionnaires, access to workshops, tutorial and peer group feedback, and where you will incorporate independent
study
